Interim Egyptian President Adli Mansour swore in a new cabinet that includes women and Christians, but no members of Islamist parties.

The changes come as Egyptian society remains divided between Islamists angry over former President Mohammed Morsi’s removal and those who seek democratic reforms.

The Muslim Brotherhood said it doesn’t recognize the new government and rejected offers to be part of the interim government.

The cabinet will focus on amending the Islamist-drafted constitution that was passed under Morsi and schedule parliamentary and presidential elections for early next year.
