Opportunity to join conversation on redefining Africa for transformation

Africa is moving and transitioning from a begging bowl mentality to become the breadbasket that she was born to be. This has been said and declared over and over the past years!

It is not just going to happen on its own. It’s going to take exemplary leadership and persistence and hard work. Africa needs servant leaders who are committed to stop the flow of corruption and generate wealth for all Africans through the equal distribution of her immense resources. This will be done using strategic, creative and innovative blueprints.

The conversations we need to be having for Africa are conversations that involve the creation of new leadership, governmental and economic blueprints that will ensure generational change.

On Saturday April 17 Global Forum of Women Entrepreneurs (GFWE) will be having that conversation with notable leaders on the African continent. GFWE will be hosting its first annual Africa online virtual conference from 7pm to 9pm (6pm to 8pm WAT/BST).

The theme is “Redefining Africa in the 21st Century for Transformation”.

GFWE was founded to respond to the need to cultivate, develop and enhance the entrepreneurial mindset of women across the globe and in its short time of existence has established a presence in a number of nations around the world, including the USA, UK and a number of African nations: South Africa, Malawi, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Eswatini and beyond.

It is a global network that believes that when women are properly groomed and included in the areas of investment, trade and finance they will be an asset for the good of all. Their objectives are achieved through:

  • Training, equipping and networking women from around the globe, and Africa in particular, in the area of entrepreneurship.
  • Interrogating entrepreneurial options for women that can be accessed through innovative means;
  • Ensuring that women are a part of the 21st century innovation and technological trend.
  • Giving-back initiatives through humanitarian and community development projects in every nation GFWE is present.

GFWE recently started it’s Africa Initiative. This initiative focuses not only on raising up women entrepreneurs in Africa, but also on telling the narrative of Africa from the African perspective. Emily Dube, a lawyer, originally from Zimbabwe will be leading this initiative as the GFWE director, Africa Initiative.

GFWE invites you to take part in this conversation which will be featuring incredible leaders and speakers such as:

  • His Royal Majesty Oba Dokun Thompson who is also the chairperson of the GFWE International Advisory Council who will be making the opening remarks;
  • Her Royal Highness Dr Hissah Al Sabah of Kuwait
  • Ambassador Arikana Chihombori-Quao, former AU Ambassador to USA and currently president, ADDI, Africa Diaspora Development Initiative, and
  • Dr Alex Chisango president, WEC, World Economic Congress

Closing remarks will be made by the host and GFWE international president, Pearl Kupe.
