Is your house built on the rock? Let this be a time we draw near to God and stand on not-the-words-of-media but instead on the Word of God! Spend your time intentionally worshipping, praying and fasting.

For a great wave of revival is on the horizon!

At the beginning of the year I had a meeting that was very unusual. If you follow my ministry you will know that even wheelchairs being emptied is not unusual — but this meeting was… unusual! It had “REVIVAL” written all over it!

To be honest, I did not expect anything out of the ordinary. We worshiped, I preached, I called out words of knowledge for the sick to be healed and called forward those who had been healed to share their testimony.

Suddenly a shout came from my right…
“What’s happening over there?” I asked.
A sweet blonde 81-year-old lady responded with a delighted shout: “I can hear you now!”

And up she came running to the altar with exhilaration and praise, repeating: “I can hear you now , I can hear you now!”

Out she took her hearing aids, “I don’t need these anymore!”

Praise immediately filled the room and the atmosphere was thick with the glory of God!

This was the first of three hearing aids left on the altar that day and the miracles just kept rolling in!

Afterwards the pastor asked me with a blank face: “What do we do now? I haven’t seen anything like this for 20 years!”

A fear of the Lord came upon me.

Revival is in our midst.

Right now all over the globe, as many circumstances are swirling in a completely opposite direction, one that is fueling fear, worry and panic, the Holy Spirit is simultaneously breathing on the Body of Christ a new wave of faith for revival!

And with this faith, He is breathing a renewed hope and great confidence in the truth that no matter what is happening all around us in the natural, His character will never change and we can rest in our heavenly Father!

Faith in Jesus in the midst of the storm!

God gives us an incredible picture of this in Mark 4: 35- 41, when during a bad storm on the Sea of Galilee, while the disciples are in a state of panic and fear, Jesus is calmly at rest in the boat! Jesus wasn’t just physically at rest he was spiritually at rest. He was one with the Father and knew that in the midst of this storm, his Heavenly Father was in total control and could be trusted in every circumstance!

And just like in that storm many years ago, as the “coronavirus storm” has now been hitting the globe, Jesus is truly calling us to that same place of rest, inner peace, and oneness with himself. He is releasing the grace for faith and hope in the truth that Jesus is so incredibly with us and that we have nothing to fear!

Miracles of hope in the midst of the storm!

Be encouraged that more than ever Jesus loves to demonstrate his consistent miracle-working power, even in seasons such as this!

“ Fear not, for I am with you, says the Lord”! The reality is that there are many accounts such as this 81-year-old lady receiving her miracle of hearing! Just last weekend we saw another lady get out of a wheelchair!

The Lord is moving mightily all over the earth. Yes, even in the midst of the storm! May each one of us, be looking for daily opportunities to be declaring the powerful message of faith and hope to a desperate world right now!

Draw near — revival is here!

“Revival is in our midst” – and I am glad to hear the of experiences Lindy-Ann Hopley has witnessed in her ministry. God is glorified there. But is this a Revival that is sweeping through the nation turning many sinners to the Lord Jesus? Whole populations confessing their sins in public? Not yet. A British preacher (I forget his name) taught me something that helps me understand the working of God: “Revival comes with a small r (revival) when God moves in a local setting, and with a capital R (Revival) when God moves in a wider, even national and supra-national setting.” If we keep these two aspects in mind, we will be able to understand why what Lindy-Ann describes, as a small r revival – and thank God for that. We will not misread her report as indicative of the way Revival is usually understood – with a capital R sweeping through a wide area ….. as happened under Andrew Murray in the 1860s in the Cape Colony, or the Welsh Revival, or the Hebrides Revival in the 1950s/60s. For such a sovereign work of God we continue to pray! Such Revivals are marked more by repentance and confession of sin leading to radically changed lifestyles, than by miracles – though these are not absent.

If we study Revivals in the Developing World we notice something distinctive, not found in the Western World Revivals. That is the element of Persecution. In the Belgian Congo and Mozambique (during our own lifetime) and in Korea from the 1880s to 1950s God sent great Revivals – but always in association with Persecution for Christ’s sake. An elderly pastor who had witnessed the Korean Revival through the Communist persecution told me (in 1993) that he feared the Korean Church would not survive “because we aren’t persecuted any longer.”. Persecution-Revival was the pattern in the New Testament too.

“O that You would rend the heavens and come down” (Isaiah 64:1) “Will You not revive us again?” (Psalm 85:6) “Lord, I have heard of Your fame; I stand in awe of Your deeds. Renew them in our day, in wrath remember mercy” Habakkuk 3:2 . “They were cut to the heart and said ‘What shall we do?’ Peter replied ‘Repent and be baptised in the name of Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit'”(Acts 2:37,38)

  2. Hi Hugh
I am saying I believe REVIVAL with a big R is on it’s way and on our doorsteps!
When I say in our midst – I am saying it’s about to break out!
I am aware of what Revival looks like and that it has not exploded yet, BUT I CAN HEAR THE SOUND – He is about to move!
