A campaign to revive a historic revival message “Africa Back to God in a Bible Way” has been on the road since it was launched in Cape Town in March, reports Apostle Linda Gobodo, a member of the campaign team.
After Cape Town the message, which was given by God to Pastor Nicholas Bhengu in 1950, was taken to Gqeberha where it was well received, she said. Then, from July 2 to 4, the campaign went to Duncan Village, East London, where a revival led by Bhengu broke out in 1950 with “Africa Back to God from Cape to Cairo” as the main message.

On August 28 Apostle Patrick Madikiza and a group of pastors launched a revival crusade in Mthatha, closing with the release of the Africa Back to God message on September 4 and 5. Madikiza was prompted by God in December 2025 to revive Bhengu’s message.
The meetings in Mthatha were well attended by local pastors, intercessors and residents, resulting in a harvest of souls followed by deliverance and signs and wonders, said Gobodo.
“What we see in these meetings is a collaboration of graces and the unity of the Body of Christ in line with the theme ‘Uniting the Body of Christ’,” she said. “The Lord is using the call for Africa to return to Him to bring unity.”
From September 10 to 12 the campaign team is embarking on a prophetic journey in the Eastern Cape, visiting historic sites where battles were fought between the English and the Xhosa nation. They will be praying in those places and redeeming the land and rivers.
“We do not take it for granted that the Lord is giving our nation a second chance after 76 years from 1950. The message never reached Cairo back then. Because of the unity of the Body of Christ the Lord is fostering we believe that the clarion call to Africa to return to God will reach the whole continent and beyond,” said Gobodo.
She also said the current Eastern Cape prophetic journey “took a momentous step forward” on Tuesday September 2 when King Jonguxolo Vululwandle Sandile, King of the AmaRharhabe Tribe, endorsed the mission during a courtesy visit by the campaign team at his Royal Palace in Mngqesha Village, King William’s Town.
“His Majesty welcomed the delegation with warm hands and an open heart. In his response, the King affirmed the importance of the campaign and graciously promised to be present at the closing prayer service, sharing that he too depends on God for wisdom and direction in leading his people,” said Gobodo. She said the king granted permission for the closing prayer and thanksgiving service to be held at the Royal Palace.
From the Eastern Cape the campaign team will move on to Gauteng where they plan to launch the Africa Back to God message in Tshwane on September 18 and 19. “The Lord said to invite intercessors and leaders from all the provinces and neighbouring nations to come to and receive the message and to spread it,” says Gobodo.
