Internationally-recognised South African singer-songwriter, worship leader, and pastor Allan released a new single, Your Presence, today.

Allan’s previous tracks, including I Belong To You, Face To Face, and Open The Heavens, continue to hold a strong presence in regular rotation on multiple radio stations, and all having reached #1 on the South African Gospel iTunes chart, and reached in the top 5 across all genres.

Allan’s musical journey took off in 2018 with the release of his breakthrough single and album titled, Face to Face, garnering an international fanbase. His debut album in 2019 surpassed expectations, and the impact of his 2022 release, Open the Heavens, transcended language barriers, becoming a church anthem and translated into various languages.

Despite the cancellation of a 2020 performance opening for Tasha Cobbs due to lockdown, worshiping with the Jesus Collective and collaborating with various artists have marked significant highlights in Allan’s musical journey. Drawing inspiration from artists like Cece Winans, Natalie Grant, Phil Wickham, and Victoria Orenze, Allan emphasises capturing the essence of worship rather than following popular trends.

Allan’s distinctive Christian pop-rock sound reflects his journey of growth as he discovered his unique style and refined his songwriting skills. Additionally, his voice seamlessly integrates into the worship genre, which holds a special place as his first love. In providing insights into his creative process, Allan describes how he initiates the songwriting journey by sitting in front of the piano. During this process, he plays chords and reflects on the message he intends to convey about God. Melodies often come to him while leading worship on stage, and the final pieces are crafted in collaboration with his producers in the studio.

Explaining the inspiration behind Your Presence, Allan expresses a desire to capture the awe and transformative power of Jesus’ presence. “The chorus echoes the sentiment, ‘Your presence, Jesus, nothing more, You’re the one that I adore.’ I encourage listeners to focus on the essence of worship and to remain captivated by the transformative power of God’s presence.”

Allan emphasises the importance of remembering the “WHY” behind worship. Reflecting on his 18-year journey, he encourages everyone to keep their focus on Jesus. The chorus of his upcoming song serves as a reminder that everything in life is about His presence.
