Clinton Mc Master reports on a group outreach in Cape Town on Freedom Day with cross walker Johan Marais aka Johan die Kruisman
We started our outreach on Tuesday opposite On the Rocks restaurant in Bloubergstrand, walking with the cross, handing out tracts and witnessing to folk along the way.
We stopped at the beachfront in front of Ons Huis as well as on the promenade past Blue Peter Hotel, to sing praises to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour and to pray for a lady who was wheelchair bound.
We then walked on the seaside pathway to Big Bay, with the adults in our group taking turns to carry the cross on this glorious journey.
Eden on the Bay beachfront restaurants were crowded and onlookers looked amazed and bewildered as our procession passed by. Some of these onlookers were glad to be greeted and served with Gospel tracts, while others simply rejected the offer — and the opportunity to hear our story or testimony.
After the walk of sharing the ”Freedom found in Christ,” we sat down on the front lawn facing the sea and Table Mountain and Johan took out his guitar and led us in a time of praise, worship, thanksgiving and prayer.
Some members of the Christian Motorcyclists Association South Africa were sightseeing and came to greet us. We were privileged to pray for the leader of this organisation in front of the local crowd and passers-by as a witness to all — and as Romans 1:16 states: ‘‘For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
All in all, on this day of Tuesday April 27 2021, we enjoyed a rewarding time of declaring, sharing and celebrating our freedom in Christ to a dying world that needs Jesus.
