Gospel singer Sibongile Sibeko will be making a guest appearance at the Ernie Haase and Signature Sound concert in Johannesburg this June, says Brettian Productions.
She was invited by Spirit Concerts to perform a track off her debut album, In His Time, after the success of her 2012 performances on the David Phelps SA tour.
Sibeko has this to say: “I am excited, honoured and humbled by the invitation. God is opening amazing doors for me and I am looking forward to performing at the June event.”
The invitation follows hot on the heels of Sibeko’s album release in March. “Recording this album has blessed me with the opportunity to share my story in song,” says Sibeko. “Between studying Opera at TUT and signing my recording deal with Brettian Productions, I waited 16 years. I also waited 10 years for my precious son, Sibusiso to be born. Things don’t happen in our time, they happen in His time.”
In His Time gives Sibeko the chance to display her vocal versatility. Songs on the album range from sincere power ballads, to up-tempo afro pop hits, all with a strong gospel theme. Language is not an issue for the artist with songs on this album performed in Zulu, Sotho and English.
Sibeko has already proven that she can stand amongst South Africa’s top Gospel singers by winning Best Music Video at the 2012 SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards with her song His Eye Is On The Sparrow.
The Ernie Haase and Signature Sound concert will take place in Johannesburg at the Mosaiek Teatro on June 28, 2013 at 7:30pm and in Cape Town on June 29, 2013 at Lighthouse Christian Centre. Tickets are now available through Computicket, ranging between R200 and R250.
