Signs of the times

[notice]A monthly column by farmer, preacher and writer for Jesus, Angus Buchan[/notice]

My dear friends, if ever we needed encouragement, it is in these last days. The signs of the times are all around us. The Lord said that when you see these things, you know that My second coming is at hand. He uses the illustration of the fig tree and He says when you see the fig tree producing new leaves you know that summer is about to be upon us, and when you see these tsunamis, earthquakes, deadly diseases, war, hatred and ethnic tensions, then you know that My coming is soon.

I want to encourage you to keep on keeping on. Change is definitely here to stay. I looked up the Oxford dictionary to find out the meaning of the word change and it says:  to make or become different, arrive at a fresh phase, from one system or situation to another. So when change comes we need to adapt. We never ever compromise God’s Word otherwise we have no blessing, but when in Rome we need to do as the Romans do. We do not have to re-invent the wheel, but we do need to remain strong and that comes through spending time in prayer, reading The Word of God and having fellowship with fellow Believers. We need to choose which way we are going to go, because change always brings decision-making. If we go to The Book of Joshua 24:15 (NKJV) says, “…choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

He was such a great leader, because he was not indecisive. As changes took place, so he adapted, but he made decisions. The Lord said that He would rather you be ice-cold then lukewarm. “So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, [a] I will vomit you out of My mouth.” (Revelation 3:16, NKJV).

The way we can adapt is by walking very closely to the Master. He has promised us, that He will never leave us as orphans, but He will direct us and if we fall way behind we will lose our way, because God is not stopping, He is on His way.

We are very excited to report that our new “Angus Buchan” app has been released which you can download from your app store. You will receive all of our material for free. It is the undiluted Word of God that gives us the ability to contain change and also to make good decisions. Do not leave anything to chance, but in all things always seek out the Lord and He will direct your paths. One of my favourite scriptures in the Bible is Psalm 119:105 (NKJV), “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

Thank you Oom Angus. I have just returned from the United States and became so aware that we need to ask The Lord for a Spirit of distinction. There are so many false prophets attempting to lead God’s children astray. Let us use the Word of God, indeed , “for the lamp to our feet and light to our path”. I am praying for you.
