There is still time for women to register for the God’s Karoo Women’s Conference which is taking place at Mentors Country Estate, Jeffreys Bay for the first time this year.

You can register online at https://godskaroowomen.co.za right up to the morning of the event which is from Friday November 4 to Sunday November 6. Registration costs R300 for the whole weekend, or R150 for Friday or Saturday. Sunday is free.

The conference, themed “New Beginnings” will be attended by many women from the Eastern Cape, as well as some from Cape Town and Johannesburg. There they will hear from four guest speakers.

Sonja Spies, one of the passionate organisers of the event, said that it is “only by God’s grace” that they have been able to host this event for eight consecutive years. Their love for God, and “the light you see on their [women’s] faces” has kept them going, and helped maintain their passion throughout the years, she said.

Sonja said that she is “excited and expectant for lives being changed, knowing that God will touch every woman attending”. There have been many testimonies from previous years, of women whose lives have changed after attending, including ladies who have started cell groups, and one lady who organised a small women’s event in Graaff-Reinet.

One year the power kept on tripping, interrupting the flow of the conference and the ladies in the tent just began singing and worshipping. “All over ladies started to pray for the problem and God was so faithful. The power come on and stayed on and we could continue. There was such an anointing moving throughout the tent.”

Speakers at the conference are Lynette Beer, Dr Melané De Villiers, Alwyn Uys, and Essie Tromp. The worship will be led by Carindé from the group Onbeskaamd.
