The present — Angus Buchan

Ephesians 5: 16 — …redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

We are to live for the present, “right now”, in fact.

I received a beautiful letter from dear friends in the USA, the heart of the letter was all about time. They said, knowing that the future has been moulded by the past, should make us pour the present into a wiser cast!

Yes, indeed, we need to redeem the time because the days are evil.

We must stop wasting time on things that will never happen, and on things which have no consequence in our lives, or in the lives of our loved ones.

One of my dear trustees said to me, not so long ago, that the most precious commodity that I have is time, therefore we must not waste it.

Get our priorities in order and they are very simple:

1. Spend time with God
2. Spend time with your spouse
3. Spend time with your children
4. Spend time with your friends
5. Spend time with your work or ministry

If we do that, God will ensure that all things will work together for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to his purposes — Romans 8:28.
