Thousands of schoolchildren saved as simple Gospel proclaimed

Christ for all Nations evangelists Jane Louw, left and Patricia Mathabela share the Gospel with children at a Nelson Mandela Bay school

The simple Gospel works! That is the explanation given by Jane Louw of Christ for all Nations for over 60 000 school children coming to faith in Jesus in Nelson Mandela Bay during evangelism outreaches in Nelson Mandela Bay this month.

“It’s a heavenly matter — something that matters to God. It’s not about us; it’s not about how smart we are. It’s not about how old we are or how well we know Scripture. It’s just the Gospel.

Mr Skapu, a staff member at Elufefeni Primary School, Nelson Mandela Bay, expresses gratitude for a visit by a CfaN team

“When we go to the schools we preach the Gospel simple and clear and that leads them into a prayer for salvation and we also pray for the infilling of the Holy Spirit,” says Mama Jane, as she is called by other members of the team of 10 Christ for all Nations (CfaN) evangelists from the Western Cape who she is leading in an ongoing mission in the Eastern Cape.

The team’s goal is to reach 200 000 schoolchildren in the province by October.

To date they have reached nearly 90 000 schoolchildren in Nelson Mandela Bay.

Mama Jane said: “It’s like a dream – like seeing a massive touch of God with His plan unfolding in miraculous ways.”

“It almost feels like Bible days where God calls you into unknown places, that we like to call uncharted territories. But those places are not unknown to God who has already planned and prepared for us like in Esther’s days.”

Fellow CfaN evangelist and team member Patricia Mathabela said they were aware of prophecies about the map of Africa being washed in the blood of Jesus from Cape to Cairo. “The prophecy is coming alive right in front of us and it’s a privilege to be part of it,” she said. CfaN teams are conducting 50 evangelism campaigns across Africa this year to mark the 50th anniversary of the ministry founded by Reinhard Bonnke.

The team has also been ministering in churches in Nelson Mandela Bay and doing outreaches with local pastors and evangelists. She said she believed their visit has been reawakening the church in the city to the power of presenting the simple Gospel message that Jesus alone solves our problem of sin and death through granting forgiveness and eternal life.

Last Saturday, after attending an evangelism workshop led by one of the CfaN team members, a group of about 40 people from a local church went on an outreach in a shopping mall where they led 43 people to Jesus within three quarters of an hour.

Mama Jane said that at some of the schools they visited they had opportunities to minister directly to children as well as to present the Gospel corporately. At one school a team member was led by the Holy Spirit to ask if any children were suffering from depression. He expected one person to respond but 30 children came forward – some of whom had been planning to commit suicide.

By the time of posting this report, the team had visited 125 schools in Nelson Mandela Bay. Most days they have five teams of two CfaN evangelists visiting schools. Sometimes, when their capacity is stretched, they split into more teams, with local evangelists pairing with CfaN team members.

Mama Jane said a lot of admin and coordination goes into setting up school visits. She said most schools welcome visits by CfaN team members. Sometimes, after their application to visit a school is turned down, they have persevered and God has opened the door for them to visit, she said.
