And for Operation Mobilisation co-ordinator, Fred van der Westhuizen, coming up with the novel book sales idea, really was a case of thinking outside of the box.
“I have lots of OM books that I always take to churches with me. So I thought that instead of them being in boxes in my room they could be on bookshelves.”
The initiative was launched in September, with the placement of the first bookstand at Sasol Summerstrand on the corner of 2nd Avenue and Strandfontein Road. This month, bookstands were placed at two more stores, Sasol Bufflesfontein on Bufflesfontein Road, Walmer and Sasol Linton Grange on Cape Road.
By the end of the week Fred said he trusted that two more stores would carry OM books.
As well as bibles, the stands offeredbooks on discipleship, mission, leadership, marriage , relationships and much more, said Van der Westhuizen.
“Our mission is to make good books available in the world at good prices,” he said.
That is awesome!
Yes I agree with Bonnie, this is out of this world. This OM coordinator is really thinking out of the box. I will visit my nearest Sasol soon.
