US Christian leader takes team on 5-nation ‘mission safari’

Apostle David McDonald, right, and the USA team in Zambia, reaching and training a generation.

Gateway News spoke with Apostle David McDonald who took a team of 19 people from America on a “mission safari” to South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Uganda last month.

The South Caronlina-based leader who originally came from South Africa said his goal for such missions “is to connect the western world with the indigenous people of Africa and show them how they can be a blessing by teaching and training them.” He says their vision and ethos is to train people, to train people to train people with a multiplication objective and create awareness of the needs of the indigenous people of Africa. To train the leaders and the people to reproduce themselves.”

He has run David McDonald Ministries www.davidmcdonaldminitries.com for 35 years and is one of the international ambassadors for Harvest International Ministries www.harvestim.org in California.

David is a spiritual father to many and has a strong prophetic anointing. He says that he and his wife, Dee believe in the five fold ministry as mentioned in Ephesians 4: 11, namely apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers and have started a global community called E4 the Ecclesia Company. The African ministry arm and outreach will be called, “Eye See Africa”, which he explains is based on the eyes of the Lord going to and fro looking for a nation, looking for a generation.” This apostolic and prophetic ministry travels around the world helping leaders transform their local communities.

During his time in SA he ministered at Veranderde Lewens Kerk in Roodepoort and at Victory Life Ministries in Bonaero Park, a church recently planted by his ministry. He said that in this new season the Ecclesia is required to discern the battle by being on “offensive attack” regarding spiritual warfare rather than on the defensive as in past years.

Elize and Leon Liebenberg who lead Victory Life Minsitries ( www.facebook.com/victorylifeministries?mibextid=ZbWKwL) told Gateway News of miracles they have seen in the church including healings from cancer and reconciliation of an estranged father and son within a month of their prayer. “God is really busy doing something big!”, said Elize.

The couple says that after attending Bible college in 2010 and doing a business plan for a church as part of the course, the Lord spoke to them about starting a ministry/church and even gave them the name and the vision for the church then! They believe God showed them they needed to start a church/ ministry with the vision on how to teach the people to walk in victory and be overcomers.

They say that at a conference in 2021 David gave Elize a word confirming they needed to start a church. They subsequently met with David and after much prayer and fasting, God confirmed the name of the Church through David who said he had started churches in Australia and Africa with the same name.

Leon and Elize said that during the Covid pandemic period they had led a home for friends who could not attend church at the time. God had been faithful to grow the home cell. They still encourage the cell.
