Powerful testimony
Read the testimony below from youth group leader Lindy Barker, on the amazing impact of Godly Revolution on their group members and why they are coming back to GR for the third, consecutive year on June 14.
TESTIMONY
Godly revolution. What an amazing event! Worshipping and celebrating Jesus Christ with some of South Africa’s Top Christian bands! Spending time with and meeting other young believers in a safe environment. Hearing amazing and life changing testimonies. A powerful event and tool for youth groups and leaders. Exposure to new Christian songs that are “cool”, especially if you do not have exposure to a Christian radio station.
I love taking my youth group to this event, youth who don’t often get exposure to Christian culture that is “cool” and meets their specific needs. Counselors are available at the event. This is an event where young people can bring their unsaved friends and feel safe and relaxed. This event is a picture of the body of Christ coming together from all walks of life.
This event is also a wonderful tool that can be used to grow your youth group. We buy our large group ticket as soon as possible and book the biggest bus that we can get. Then we start advertising. The youth are so excited about the event that they freely invite their friends to youth in order to get a place on our bus.
Thus, we, as youth workers, get an opportunity months before the time to sow Jesus seeds in the harts of new youth members. This will be our youth group;s third year of attending the event and I have seen how this event touches their lives in a remarkable way. This event is certainly the highl ight of our youth calendar and after the event has ended, we start counting down the days to the next event the following year!
