Worship Awake is releasing a new EP, Awake today with a single My Worship Awakes that was born in a time of worship when Stella (Christelle Combrinck) saw a vision of Jesus on fire, reaching out and inviting her to take His hand.
Founder of the worship movement that has kept on growing since it was birthed during the first lockdown, Stella says: ““It is with such gratitude that we release these six songs as testimonies of what God is stirring in our hearts.
“We’ve seen Him awaken our truest worship as we behold Jesus together. We’ve felt His desire for us to live in unbroken fellowship with Him and to reveal His glory through a purified Church.
“These songs began at our songwriting retreats and have become the soundtrack of our journey with God. They have facilitated powerful encounters with God at various worship gatherings and we are delighted to share them with the rest of the world. They were recorded live at three of our songwriting retreats: LIV Village just outside Durban, a very special place; Shofar in Franschhoek; and Le Bac in Paarl”.
About the song My Worship Awakes and her vision of Jesus on fire, she says: “I knew that if I accepted the invitation to take His hand, it would be a purifying, painful experience, as well as a passion-fire-burning-in-my-own-heart kind of experience.
“I knew that this invitation was for us as a team and us as His worshiping bride, and the team confirmed this when they shared what they experienced in that moment. James started singing the chorus ‘Holy, holy, holy’ spontaneously and we knew that God had gifted us with a song.
“We built verses around the chorus that were inspired by the image of Jesus on fire, inviting us to draw close. We cry almost every time we sing this song!”
My worship Awakes as well as the full EP AWAKE is available on all digital platforms.
