Yield to the Potter — Angus Buchan

Hope

Jeremiah 18:6

As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so too, are we in the hand of God, and yet we think that we can do things on our own, forgetting that we are merely the clay, and we are not the potter.

If the potter is not happy with the way in which the pot looks when he is building it, creating it, then he simply crushes it, and rebuilds it into the vessel, he wants it to become.

The potter is Jesus, and you and I are simply the clay, therefore we need to remain humble, pliable, and teachable. Because He loves us, He is determined to make us into the vessel He has created us to be, sometimes it is painful when we get broken down. When there are flaws, and imperfections in the clay, the Master Potter has to take them out, and for our sakes He will take them out and in the end, we shall be most grateful to Him.

“Dear Lord, Holy Spirit, please help us not to become rebellious and unteachable, because we know that if we do not hear the voice of God and walk, according to His statutes, we will have to be rebuilt, and because God loves us so much, He will not allow us to be made into vessels that do not bring glory to God. So help us to be soft, to be pliable, so that we can bring glory to God through His creation in us, for Jesus sake, Amen!”

Jesus bless you
