‘Breath Of Life’ worship event coming to Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein on November 17

Last year’s stadium worship event, “Night With The King”

The stage is being set in Bloemfontein for a mass outdoor worship event called ‘Breath of Life’ at the Toyota Stadium on Friday November 17.

Quinton de Vries of Wild Canaan which is hosting the event said it has been their dream since 2018 to fill the city’s rugby stadium with praise and worship. “Our vision is that through worship we first restore our hearts and then we restore our community,” he said.

The first stadium worship event was scheduled to start in 2020 on a day that turned out to be the same day that lockdown was announced. “So that didn’t happen,” he said.

But in August last year the inaugural event was launched at the stadium. Billed as “A Night With The King, 20 000 people took part – 14 500 attending the live event and 4 500 people participating online.

Quentin said that this year they are aiming for 30 000 people to take part in an event called Breath of Life – a name inspired by Psalm 150:6 – Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Four bands will lead the worship: they are Shelter, VirAnder and two bands made up of people from various Bloemfontein church worship teams. The worship concert will start at 6pm on Friday November 17.

Tickets for the Breath of Life stadium worship event are available at Ticketpro – from R20.
