‘A quiet and peaceful life’ — Angus Buchan

Hope

If we go to the Word of God in the first book of 1 Timothy 2:2 — “Lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and]reverence for this is good and acceptable in the sight of our Saviour.”

We have to stop chasing our tail, as they say, rushing everywhere but getting nowhere fast, we really need to slow down and start pacing ourselves. Many years ago, I attempted to run the mighty Comrades Marathon.

I was running for a young lady who had broken her back and the specialist said there was no hope for her, she had damaged her spinal cord so badly, but we prayed for her, the prayer of faith, and then I challenged her; I said: “Do you believe in miracles?”

She said that she did and I said: “Do you believe that one day you will walk down the aisle with your father on your wedding day?” She said she did, which was absolutely impossible at that time. Then I said something quite ridiculous: “Do you believe that I can run the Comrades Marathon?” I am not a runner; I am what they call a 4 x 4. Well, the bad news is that I didn’t finish the Comrades, but the good news is that I had the privilege of conducting her wedding day when she walked down the aisle with her father on her wedding day.

When we lead a quiet and a godly life in peace, then God works miracles. He wants to work a miracle in your life today, will you be quiet and peaceful and allow Him to do it.

Jesus bless you
