Be ready to be blown away by awesome, home-grown PROXY!

PROXY ‘s new album “Everlasting”

If you, like me, had never heard of PROXY ( guys from View Church in Cape town)  be ready to be blown away. It is an outstanding album setting the standard for South African churches / worship teams to follow !

A live recording but soo well made you think it’s recorded in a studio at times; mixed and mastered at the levels we have become used to from Hillsong and Jesus Culture.

The songs are filled with charisma and punch ; well written by members of the church with many inspired by a Sunday preach and the Word. Passion for Jesus and His love are evident in all the songs and many would be useful to do in your local church !

It is a combo cd/DVD release and distributed by Integrity, selling for Just over R100 buckS at good Christian music outlets ;) It’s a must get!

The full DVD shows the colour and abundant life these guys and audience have. Iit is extremely well produced and edited like the cd and after viewing it feels like you never missed the evening!

The combo’s title song “Everlasting” has a huge intro and lyrics that are powerful and catchy. “We stand in awe” is a anthem of unity and His goodness , great lyrics. “I believe” is An incredible   song – reminds me of a Joel Houston sound.

Two songs have a DJ adding some funky sounds in-between the chunky guitars and drums!  One song on the cd missing on the DVD is their beautiful version of a Xhosa hymn / refrain with the English words sung afterwards by Vuyo Sotashe (a very talented vocalist who also wrote most the songs in the album). Hopefully the next album will have some more African feel songs unique to who we are!

These guys are current and portray excellence. They are mainly youth targeted. Before you buy your next Hillsong album be true to South Africa – and see for yourself “local is lekker”. Very lekker!

For any drummers out there the DVD has bonus material with two songs just showing drummer cam view!

Its a proudly South African product. Hint, a cool gift for friends overseas !
