Buchan leading special prayer meeting for rain after Mighty Men event in Eastern Cape

In a letter sent “To The People of Port Elizabeth” yesterday, farmer-evangelist Angus Buchan invites everybody in the region to attend the Sunday service of the Mighty Men Jeffreys Bay conference on March 19 which will conclude with concerted prayer for rain.

“It will be a Christian service, but all are welcome. We are coming with the purpose of preaching the gospel first and foremost and then we will pray for the sick and after that we are going to have a very concerted and definite Prayer Meeting for rain in PE and the Eastern Cape,” he writes.

Buchan is making a rare double appearance at the Mighty Men event at Mooi Uitsig farm near Jeffreys Bay, where he will be preaching to men only on the evening of Saturday March 19 and to everybody at the closing family service the next morning. The family service is a free event that starts at 9.30am.

In his letter to the people of PE, which is facing dire water shortages and service disruptions after years of drought which have left storage dams depleted, he says he and his team are coming to the Mighty Men “with the purpose of preaching the gospel first and foremost and then we will pray for the sick and after that we are going to have a very concerted and definite Prayer Meeting for rain in PE and the Eastern Cape”.

The letter continues: “It concerns me greatly, that the Eastern Cape. is not getting rain. We want to come as brothers and sisters in Christ and stand with the people of Port Elizabeth, and the surrounding areas and beseech the Lord Jesus Christ to bring gentle, soaking, plentiful rain to your area.

“As you are aware we have done this before, many times, and God has always answered our prayers and we believe He is going to do it again, but we need your support, because God moves when His people come together in prayer. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NM) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

“We are coming to pray the prayer of faith, not the prayer of hope, faith is for now and hope is for the future. So, we are believing for unlimited rain for your beloved province and its an honor for rne to join with you, with the team from Mighty Men Jeffreys Bay, to wait on the Lord and to see our prayers corne to fruition.
