By Rachel Kalidass, Awakening South Africa Prayer and Repentance
Awakening South Africa, Prayer and Repentance movement, extends an invitation to all believers in South Africa to 24 hours of prayer to push back the darkness of Halloween being released upon our nation at this time.
Observed annually throughout the world on October 31, Halloween has grown in popularity over the years in South Africa. Public and private Halloween-themed parties are becoming more popular – an opportunity which retailers have exploited to commercialise to a specific audience.
Halloween is also known as Samhain. The Druidic and Shamanic roots are seen today in pagans, wiccans, satanists and New-Age believers.
It is believed that on the eve of Samhain the line between the living and the dead became thin and the spirits of the “Otherworld” were allowed to roam the Earth during this day — both spirits of departed loved ones as well as evil spirits. These themes of death, evil and witchcraft are in direct conflict with the Word of God.
Ephesians 5:11: “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” 1 Corinthians 10:21: “You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons”
Former satanists have been vocal, warning Christians in particular, of the spiritual dangers of Halloween, warning that it is the highest day on the satanic calendar. It’s also a night of the year where there are the most human sacrifices on the whole planet.
Demonic doors are “opened “in the nation through the performance of various rituals undertaken at this time. These doors need to be “closed” through intensive prayer, repentance, praise and worship.
This is thus a call to the Body of Christ — to every believer, every intercessor, and every worshipper — to “take your place on the wall”. Let’s stand together for the spiritual awakening of our nation.
We, therefore, invite you to be part of the army of the Lord by choosing a one-hour slot, where you will stand in the gap to pray for the nation of South Africa at this time.
