The assassination attempt on President Donald Trump in Washington DC on Saturday night will not be the last unless Christians shut down the Spirit of Assassination, said author, prophetic voice and intercessor Jennifer Leclaire.
The spirit driving would-be mass murderer Cole Thomas Allen, 31, at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner on Saturday “has been blocked three times by the mercy of God and the prayers of the saints” but “this is an unbroken assignment” and the Spirit of Assassination is relentless and it is up to the Church, not just the Secret Service to stop it, she said in a YouTube alert. She called on intercessors to respond strategically to break the murderous assignment.
Allen, who was stopped by Secret Service members after he charged past a security checkpoint in the Washington Hilton Hotel on Saturday, was charged with attempted murder and two firearms offences when he appeared in court in Washington DC on Monday. He did not enter a plea. At the time he was apprehended he was carrying a semi-automatic handgun, a pump-action shotgun and three knives. According to an affidavit, Allen sent an email to his family shortly before the attack that said: “Administration officials… are targets, prioritized from highest-ranking to lowest”.
During Saturday night’s incident, Trump, Vice-President JD Vance, cabinet members and other White House officials were rushed from the hotel ballroom after gunfire rang out. It was the third time in less than two years that Trump survived an assassination bid.
In her video alert, Leclaire said while authorities are still investigating Allen’s full motivation “we know the spirit that’s working behind it.”
Attempt to stop a voice
She said: “Murder is not something Satan does occasionally. He comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy. That is his mission. That is his motive. And every assassination attempt is ultimately an attempt to stop a voice. You have to understand that the agenda is murder. The motive in many of these assassination attempts throughout history, Lincoln, Kennedy, and others — it was to stop a voice.
“Think about Jezebel. Jezebel didn’t just want Elijah dead. She wanted him dead, but really the motive was to kill his voice. She wanted his prophetic call silenced. She wanted the false prophets to take a stand in the land. She sent a messenger to him and said in 1 Kings 19 verse 2: ‘So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.‘ In other words: ‘You killed my false prophets; I’m going to kill you. You tried to silence my voice; I’m going to silence your voice.’
“And she wanted him dead by morning. Now think about what last night [Saturday night] was in Washington. It was a dinner celebration, freedom of speech is at the centre, freedom of the press, and early reports say the suspect had mass murder in mind. Think about it. The shotgun, the handgun, multiple knives. It appears that he intended to make this a history-making massacre. But it’s the Spirit of Assassination behind it. And the Spirit of Assassination came operating, influencing a person to permanently end many voices in that one room in a single night.
Same spirit from ages past
“So you see, the weapon changes, but the spirit doesn’t change. It’s the same spirit from ages past. And this is the nature of the Spirit of Assassination. It moves with urgency because it understands what’s at stake when a voice stays active. So the assignment last night wasn’t just presidential, it was generational. It was against an idea that voices in this nation get to speak freely and live. It’s against that.
“This is the land of the free and the home of the brave. And although America has a lot of problems, we do have free speech and the enemy hates free speech. And if we don’t discern the Spirit of Assassination — if we process this as a security incident and move on, we have missed the entire spiritual dimension of what God is allowing us to see play out right before our eyes.”
Quoting Job 1:10, where Satan said to God: “Have you not put a hedge of protection around him and his household and everything he has?” Le Claire said the hedge — the divine restraining barrier in the Spirit — held because of the prayers of the saints.
She said: “But we’ve got to stop and receive what that really means, because that hedge does not maintain itself. You know, Trump himself, afterward, still in his tuxedo, standing at the White House, he said, when you’re impactful, they go after you. When you’re not impactful, they leave you alone. And, you know, he was speaking politically, but that really is a truth. The enemy does not spend arrows on what or who does not matter. The intensity of the assignment reveals the weight of what’s at stake.”
Appealing to intercessors in America and elsewhere, she said: “What nearly happened in that ballroom can’t be processed and filed away. This is a moment that should wake us up even more. The Spirit of Assassination is not going to retreat. It’s going to double down. It’s going to reorganise. It’s going to send another vessel. And the question is, will the intercessors reorganise, too? Will we press in harder? Will we hold the hedge with even greater urgency?
“Isaiah 62, verse six and seven says: ‘I have set watchmen on your walls, oh, Jerusalem, that they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mission of the Lord do not keep silent and give Him no rest until He establishes and until He makes Jerusalem a praise in the Earth.’ Now, we are a generation of watchmen. This passage is speaking to just as much as it was back thousands of years ago.
Prayer strategy
“God is still calling watchmen to the walls. We’re not to be silent. We’re not to be casual. Not in this hour. Now, let me get real practical with you. How do we pray? Let me give you a few suggestions here.
“The first thing is we need to pray specifically. Not a general ‘Lord protect the leaders.’ That’s good, but it’s too vague for this hour. We need to bind the Spirit of Assassination by name. We need to decree a hedge of protection around national leadership. We need to declare that every demonic assignment organised in the Second Heaven against those God has positioned is dismantled right now in the name of Jesus.
“Second, find others to pray with. There is strength in numbers. One puts a thousand to flight, two put 10 000 to flight. Listen, the enemy’s network is highly organised. Our intercession must be highly organised too.”
