Church group approaching ConCourt again in bid to block vaccine mandates

Bishop Marothi Mashashane

The South African Christian Forum (SACF) has been invited by the Constitutional Court to file a new urgent application to interdict the government from making Covid-19 vaccines mandatory and from depriving or limiting access or benefits to unvaccinated citizens, says SACF president Bishop Marothi Mashashane.

“We are excited that the matter has not been thrown out of court and has now been allowed to be launched on an urgent court roll,” he said in response to the development which follows a disappointing response to a previous application for a ConCourt hearing on vaccine mandates. In mid October he said the Acting Chief Justice told the forum he did not believe the matter qualified for direct access to the Constitutional Court but should first be heard in the High Court.

He said the ConCourt invited SACF to launch a new application after they made a submission to the ConCourt explaining their factual and legal grounds for wanting to go directly to the apex court.

Previously Mashashane told Gateway News that the forum believes that vaccination raises a threat to South Africa’s constitutional democracy and the Bill of Rights. In an affidavit accompanying the forum’s first ConCourt application Mashashane said their case was not about a “for or against the vaccine” debate, but about the freedom to choose.

  1. I am glad the ConCourt has agreed to considering a new application on this matter. I have been astounded by the complete block-out by “main media” of the very significant developments that are taking place world-wide regarding many aspects of the Covid saga .Google,Facebook, twitter,Utube are the main blockers. If one goes to a site like Rumble and search covid you will be shocked at the degree of info “lockdown”that is going on.

  2. My opinion : NO. to no own choice or mandate pressure. I will bow only to GOD almighty !
