Dr Shirley Magazi founder of Passover Africa and executive chairperson of the Christian Coalition of Churches in Namibia reports on prayer campaigns focused on Namibia’s upcoming general election

The Church in Namibia has embarked on a number of strategic prayer initiatives seeking God’s guidance for the presidential and national elections on November 27.

On May 26, Passover Africa, an apostolic-prophetic movement focused on revival in Africa, launched nationwide election prayer when it brought together church leaders from all 14 regions of Namibia to seal off the nation from intrusion by wicked forces seeking to influence the direction of the nation during the election season.

Since then, networks of churches and intercessory groups have been praying for the elections all across Namibia. One such initiative is the 24-Hour Prayer and Worship Gathering (24HPWG) that held its 32nd gathering from August 30 to 31, at the Redemption Gospel Church (Light of the World Ministries), in Okahandja. The 24HPWG is an interdenominational prayer movement that started in October 2016, under the auspices of Youth One Africa Ministries. The Gatherings are held every three months, to provide spiritual covering over the affairs of our nation.

At the 32nd Gathering, a campaign of 24/7 online (Zoom) prayers for the elections was launched. The campaign will run for three months — until November 30.

We believe that God has a perfect plan for Namibia, and through prayer, we not only receive spiritual insight into those plans, but gain access to God so that He can make those plans come to pass.

The 32nd Gathering, which was held under the theme: “The Prevailing Will of God in the National Elections”, prayed for the election of leaders after God’s Heart; leaders who are humble, visionary, selfless and who have the nation’s interests at heart. The Church prayed for God to examine the hearts of presidential and National Assembly candidates and to sift out those who don’t match up to His plans for our nation.

The 32nd Gathering also prayed for Namibia’s peace, protection, calm, and for justice, righteousness, fairness, wisdom, understanding, knowledge, unity, love, and truth to resonate in the hearts of all Namibians. We prayed for the salvation of all the people of Namibia, to be delivered from sin, darkness, and every bondage, in Jesus’ name.

There was a release of supernatural joy throughout the 24-Hour Gathering, depicting that the season ahead will be a fruitful one.

We thank all the participants in the 32nd Gathering and equally acknowledge all the other prayer initiatives across the country.

The Church invites all Namibians to vote, to exercise their democratic right, and to be led by the Holy Spirit who speaks to our conscience, about the leaders we ought to vote for.

Namibians shall live to honour the Lord Jesus Christ, and live in harmony with one another, as we, together, move to realise God’s destiny for our beloved country.

*During 2020, at the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic, upon the instruction of the Lord, Dr. Magazi arose as a prophetic-apostolic voice to the Ekklessia in Namibia and Africa. Since then, through the platform of Passover Africa, she continued to release the mind of God regarding the Ekklessia, positioning the Ekklessia for structural reformation and revival, while providing strategies against the pandemic. To this end, she led the nation and Africa into series of strategic intercession and engagements for reformation and against the perpetration of wickedness through the pandemic. To the glory of God, the effect of the pandemic defied all predications by experts and Africa emerged with a testimony of Passover. Dr. Magazi is a patriot and passionate about the glorious era of Africa, which is NOW. She is the visionary leader of Passover Africa and the Executive Chairperson of the Christian Coalition of Churches in Namibia.
