Edward Pozyn, who has been undertaking road-trip missions since Jesus rescued him in 2011 when he was destitute, is preparing for a 2 500km cycle pilgrimage.
Edward, 61, said he plans to set out from Kakamas, Northern Cape on Saturday April 4, riding to Cape Town and then to Durban.
For the first 10 years of his road-trip ministry, Edward carried out long walks for various causes, including destitute people and young drug addicts. In 2021 he switched to cycling. His current mission will be his third on two wheels and his first in three years.
Edward said that in the iterim he has been volunteering for various community projects around SA, most recently a seven months stint at an animal shelter near Kakamas.
He said God has put it on his heart to pray for South Africa, for youth and for world peace during his upcoming mission ride. He said he will also be available to share testimonies with churches and groups along the route. As usual, he is trusting God for support and for the details of his itinerary.
“Everything is falling into place for the trip,” he said, acknowledging God’s answers to his prayers. A supporter in the UK has sponsored him with a new bicycle and Dup’s Cycles in Kathu, North West, has blessed his with a helmet, cycling clothes and bicycle spares.
Edward said that if anybody would like to join him on his journey he would welcome the company. He has a second bicycle which is available for anybody who would like to accompany him on the trip. “Anybody is welcome to join him, as long as they are committed to doing what we need to do,” he said.
