Honour is one of the most profound spiritual principles woven throughout Scripture and history. To honour is to recognise the divine order, to acknowledge the authority God has established, and to celebrate His wisdom manifested through chosen vessels. When nations and communities embrace honour, destinies are aligned, and blessing automatically flows, not because of mere reverence for individuals, but because in honouring them, we exalt the God who appointed them.
Scripture gives striking examples of how honour shapes destiny. David, though relentlessly pursued by King Saul, refused to harm him. He recognised that Saul’s position was established by God, and by showing restraint, he demonstrated that honouring authority is ultimately about honouring God. In time, this posture prepared David to step into kingship with legitimacy and divine favour.
Elisha the prophet also embodied this principle. His unwavering loyalty to Elijah, even when others mocked or doubted him, revealed his deep recognition of God’s hand upon his spiritual father. Because he honoured Elijah to the very end, Elisha inherited a double portion of his spirit and carried on a ministry of even greater impact. His honour unlocked new realms of revelation, much to the benefit of an entire generation, and unveiled power that preserved and transformed nations.

It is within this framework that the ministry of Prophet Elvis Mbonye, a Gospel minister situated in Uganda, is best understood. At the core of his message is a singular emphasis: that the name of Jesus must be lifted above every other name, in every sphere of life. He teaches that the promotion of believers must come only through submission to God, never through compromise. Often, he recalls how Jesus refused Satan’s offer to inherit the kingdoms of the world by bowing to him, which is a timeless reminder that true greatness can only flow from God. In this way, Prophet Elvis has consistently encouraged the body of Christ to rely solely on God for their promotion, warning against the dangers of exalting human systems above divine authority.
Over time, he has reiterated that when God anoints a man or woman, He does so with the people and spheres of influence in mind. This conviction has not only shaped his prophetic ministry but also his appeal to fellow ministers. In an open letter addressed to church leaders in Uganda during the 2020 pandemic, Prophet Mbonye, while addressing the leaders of the Church, reminded them that there is no higher calling than labouring in the Lord’s vineyard, especially in moments when the world is drowning in fear and confusion.
He questioned whether the church leaders and the Church as a whole was truly representing Christ in such a time, highlighting how division and suspicion had left it scattered and nearly voiceless. Drawing from Scripture, he warned against the “divide it or lose it” mentality that undermines unity and blinds leaders to the unique gifts in their midst. He challenged ministers not to seek the approval of politicians or media, but to remember they are first and foremost servants of God, accountable to His Kingdom above all.
The letter called for a rediscovery of the Church’s supernatural heritage, urging leaders to resist the subtle agendas of the world and to reclaim their prophetic role in guiding God’s people. Echoing Mordecai’s charge to Esther, he reminded them that perhaps they had come to their positions “for such a time as this”, to defend the body of Christ from stumbling into compromise. His words were both an awakening and a rallying cry for unity, courage, and spiritual boldness in the face of adversity.
This same conviction was powerfully demonstrated during his recent visit to Pakistan — a nation over 98% Muslim. Before tens of thousands, he shared his own salvation story, testifying of how Jesus rescued him and called him to serve. He assured the crowd that God had them in mind — not only as individuals, but also as a nation — when He raised him up for such a moment, to proclaim Christ in their land. And just as honour always carries a blessing, Prophet Mbonye prophesied by the Spirit of God that light would come to Islamabad, that the enemy would be crushed once and for all, and that industries would soon spring up. Shortly after his visit, developments in that direction began unfolding, affirming the prophetic word and reminding many of the fruit that comes when a nation honours the word of the Lord.
In a similar vein, Prophet Elvis has been instrumental in addressing societal issues through prophetic insight and prayer. On January 23 2015, he prophesied concerning the xenophobic attacks in South Africa. He revealed that the Spirit of God is deeply concerned with the peace of the people of South Africa and would intervene to arrest the situation and bring about healing. His prophetic declarations were a call to the Church to rise in unity and intercede for the nation.
Following these prophetic insights, Durban witnessed a significant shift. In April 2015, thousands rallied in the city against the xenophobic violence that had plagued the nation. Approximately 5,000 people, including religious and political leaders, marched in solidarity with foreign nationals, condemning the attacks and advocating for peace. The atmosphere was one of unity and resolve, with protesters singing solidarity songs and holding banners that read: “We are all Africans” . This collective stand against xenophobia marked a pivotal moment in Durban’s history, reflecting the fulfillment of the prophetic word spoken by Prophet Elvis.
This same prophetic insight has been seen elsewhere. In Kenya, he warned against the proposed Religious Regulation Bill, declaring that overreaching state control of worship would invite grave consequences. Months later, devastating floods swept the nation, leading many to reflect on the prophetic warning and the need to honour divine insight in governance. Thankfully, President William Samoei Ruto reconsidered the passing of this regulation, although this should have been the first course of action. In Uganda, as far back at 2013, he warned of an oppressive Religious and Faith-Based Organisations policy, that would seek to undermine the sanctity of religious freedoms, which various men and women of God awakened to, and subsequently challenged to this day. During a visit to Tanzania in November 2024, Prophet Elvis publicly commended the nation for not elevating science above God, during the pandemic, and emphasising that while science in and of itself is not bad, it must remain subject to God at all times.
Prophet Mbonye has also emphasised that God must not be confined to churches but must be present in boardrooms, parliaments, and every arena of national discourse. By honouring God in governance and decisionmaking, leaders open their nations to Godly wisdom, stability, and prosperity.
In furtherance of this vision, he pioneered the Remnant Identity Coalition, a movement uniting leaders across the five-fold ministry to foster unity, strength, and strategic influence in society. Reflecting on the lessons of 2020, Prophet Mbonye noted that the Church had been found fragmented, ill-prepared, and slow to respond to prophetic counsel — counsel that could have thwarted the agenda seeking to sideline it. Out of this realisation came the Coalition, with a vision to restore true honour and nobility to ministers of God and to strengthen the body of Christ for greater effectiveness.
The Coalition blends agenda-based leadership with excellence and strong spiritual anchoring, providing a platform where ministers can fellowship, share resources, and draw from collective wisdom. It seeks to enhance collaborative mission and evangelism, offer protection and advocacy for ministers, and fan both personal and spiritual growth. In doing so, it positions the Church not only to thrive in its temple service but also to amplify its voice in the marketplace. Globally, the Coalition is envisioned as a movement to redefine and restore the Church’s place of influence by overturning misconceptions that have too often caused the body of Christ to be sidelined from shaping society at the highest levels.
It is for these and many more reasons that every year on September 1, multitudes gather to honour the manifest ministry of Jesus Christ in Prophet Elvis Mbonye’s life. To his followers, this is not the exaltation of a man, but a celebration of how Christ continues to speak and guide nations through yielded vessels. Those who have encountered his ministry testify to transformation, renewed faith, and greater boldness in exalting Christ above all else.
The principle of honour remains a key to unlocking destinies. Just as Joseph, David, Elisha and many more shaped the course of history through their acts of honour, so too do nations today stand to benefit when they honour God and those He has appointed. In the ministry of Prophet Elvis Mbonye, many see a living testimony that when the name of Jesus is exalted above all, individuals and nations access increased divine revelation, protection, and prosperity.

Thanks for this insightful and enlightening piece dear Evelyn. It is indeed a MUST Read for any one interested in clearing their doubts about what it means to Honour a man of God.
By the time the Church realizes these divine truths, others will have fallen short of the glory of God?!
When we honor a prophet in the name of a prophet, we receive a Prophet’s reward. We are preserved in every way. We are enlarged. And we become prosperous.
Hallelujah. The absolute truth!!! Honor is the distinguishing factor even more in these last days as this age comes to close. But before then; God is showing off the majesty of His kingdom through the Prophetic office as never seen before through those that humble themselves to honour the unmatched prophetic voice of this age Prophet Elvis Mbonye. It’s on record when he speaks God has spoken and so we do well to accord double honour to him and his God. Glorious Days Are Upon Us. Jesus Christ Is Lord.
Now I know why God has entrusted him with so much Authority.
He is the Prophet to the Nations
When we recieve a Prophet in the name of a Prophet, we receive a Prophet’s reward. Nations are getting the light everyday when they receive Prophet Elvis Mbonye. The Prophet To The Nations and they continuously recieve The Prophet’s reward.
Many thanks, this is a great article that demystifies Honor. I love it when Prophet Elvis honors fellow ministers; Evangelists, Teachers, Apostles, Pastors. Honor is a biblical order 1Tim 5:17 Let the elders who do well be counted worthy of double honor. Honor is firstly to the man of God Prophet Elvis not the man Elvis. The picture of the Prophetic Office is getting clearer by the day, Glory to God.
This, Evelyne, has been a beautiful reading experience. Thank you for enlightening the world on what honor in the biblical sense is, and the benefits of recognizing and honoring the gifts of God in the earth today. In this day, we are indeed privileged to have the gift of God, Prophet Elvis Mbonye!
The lord God can’t do anything before revealing it to his prophets Amos 3:7 and with prophets our lives are preserved

“Thank you, Evelyne, for this powerful reminder that honour isn’t just ceremonies or titles — it’s a posture that releases destiny. As Prophet Elvis Mbonye has often emphasized, the principle of honour is key to unlocking divine favour and transformation. When leaders and nations embrace this truth, they align with God’s purposes in ways that bring lasting impact.
