Elon Musk has described himself as a “cultural Christian” and a “big believer in the principles of Christianity” in an interview with Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson.
Musk is the founder of SpaceX, Tesla and the owner of social media platform X. In September 2021, Forbes declared him the richest person in the world. The following month, he became the first person to have amassed a net worth of over $300 billion (£232m).

In a two-hour interview, posted to Dr Jordan Peterson’s X account, Must said: “I’m not a particularly religious person”.
When pressed, he responded: “I’m probably a cultural Christian. I’m a big believer in the principles of Christianity. I think they’re very good. I was brought up Anglican, and I was baptised.
“I believe that the teachings of Jesus are good and wise. I believe in ‘turn the other cheek.’ For a while I thought that was weak.

“I think this notion of forgiveness is important. I think it’s essential, because if you don’t forgive… you have these never-ending cycles of vengeance… ‘an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.’”
The tech mogul remarked that Christian principles “result in the greatest happiness for humanity, considering not just the present, but all future humans.” He has previously said that the West would be “screwed” without Christianity.
Musk went on to discuss one of his children. Having previously told described his own father, Errol Musk, as “evil” and “a terrible human being” to Rolling Stone magazine, he told Peterson that he regarded his eldest son as “dead” due to ‘puberty blockers’.
“I was essentially tricked into signing documents for one of my older boys, Xavier… this is before I had any understanding of what was going on… I was told ‘Xavier might commit suicide’ [without puberty blockers.
“I think the people doing this should go to prison… I didn’t realise that puberty blockers were essentially sterilisation drugs. My son Xavier is dead. Killed by the woke mind virus.”
