Encouraging start to three-months revival prayer campaign in PE

People who “are so hungry to pray and to seek God” are registering daily to join a 90-day campaign to pray for world revival that was launched in Port Elizabeth on Saturday August 1, says the campaign visionary, Blessing Marunga.

“The first five days have been confirmation that God is involved — as people from Port Elizabeth, other parts of South Africa and beyond — have joined daily,” says the Zimbabwe-born educational pioneer who initiated the campaign after sensing a call to usher in revival which many believe is imminent.

During the campaign from August 1 to October 31 Christians in PE are invited to come together to pray at the crosses at Fountain Vineyard from 5pm to 6pm on Sunday to Friday and from 3pm to 4pm on Saturday. Prayers are asked to wear masks and observe social distancing. Marunga keeps participants in other centres up-to-date with prayer pointers and campaign feedback through daily morning and evening messages he sends out via WhatsApp.

“People are responding back. You can feel the energy growing,” he says. “It is wonderful to see how people are participating over prayer in just five days. Can you imagine what God is going to do by the end of 90 days?”
