Gateway News to publish fortnightly to promote growth

Letter from Co-Founder / Editor

Dear Gateway News reader

For the past four and a half years it has been been my privilege and pleasure to send our subscribers a weekly newsletter bringing the latest local, national and international Christian news and views.

And since we launched Gateway News by faith from Port Elizabeth in February 2011 our readership has grown to approximately 25 000 people per month and some prominent SA Christian leaders have greatly encouraged us by affirming that God is raising this news platform in this time for His purposes (See video clip).

We are deeply grateful to God and to our loyal supporters for the growth that has taken place over the past four and a half years. However we believe our calling is to reach millions of people in South Africa and beyond with news that brings hope in Jesus. We also sense that unless we take decisive steps now to pursue this calling we risk staying on our present plateau.

Our board believes that I am the right person to head up a strategic growth drive. And since it is not possible for me to do so and simultaneously bring out a weekly news edition, we have decided to publish the news fortnightly for a season. Our team trusts that as I put the same passion and effort into marketing and networking on alternate weeks — starting next week — as I have always put into publishing weekly news, we will see significant growth in our reach and capacity. And with the help of our awesome volunteer reporters and columnists, I will certainly continue to put 110% effort into bringing you a quality, fortnightly news service.

Call for partners
My heart call in this time is for more of our readers to actively partner with us. I will share more about this message with readers in the period ahead. As a team we CAN make a Jesus impact on our culture through Christian news. One way that readers can partner is by joining our Super Subscriber programme and paying a voluntary annual or monthly subscription fee of any amount for the news they read via newsletter, social media or website. You can go a step further and encourage members of your Christian network to become Super Subscribers. Other partnering opportunities include advertising and listing on our Christian Directory. There are certainly other opportunities to link hands with us: you are welcome to email me at news@gatewaynews.co.za if you would like to put your time, talents or resources into helping us to bring hope, light and truth through news.

Blessings
Andre

Yes, Go for it, Andre and Afrika! Your e-newspaper is well worth a wider readership. With love and encouragement in Jesus.

All the best Andre in your decision to jump with faith off the platform. May you land where you aim and where God wants you to be and can use your passion for His Work!
