Gauteng, SA to be dedicated to Lord on Sunday

An intensive countrywide prayer campaign that was initiated after the African National Congress dedicated South Africa to ancestors in January reaches its climax on Sunday (December 2), with the dedication of Gauteng and South Africa to the Lord Jesus Christ.

The campaign which was initiated by the SA Prayer Movement for Change and the Institute for Christian Leadership Development has been supported by all nine provinces of South Africa, with KwaZulu Natal being the first to be dedicated to the Lord — on April 21.

The grand finale prayer event on Sunday will take place at the Union Building Pretoria, from 14h00 to 17h00. There will be an hour of worship before the main event. All Christians are invited and are asked to bring along a South African flag and items representing the nations, such as farm produce, minerals and proteas. Other items to bring include drinking water, sunblock, hats, umbrellas and communion elements, say the organisers. More information can be obtained by emailing  dedicationgauteng@icld.co.za.

The organisers say the dedication of South Africa and its provinces to Jesus will facilitate evangelism, fast track answers to prayers, increase the possibilities of righteous and ethical political leaders and generally provide the spiritual infrastructure necessary for transformation.
