Stage is set for world-class, inspiring input for Christian leaders
We are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Global Leadership Summit in South Africa. Hosted by the Willow Creek Association of Southern Africa which was founded in 1999, Willow Creek Association (WCA) serves pioneering pastors and leaders through world-class leadership experiences and resources. WCA is committed to a singular idea: that inspired, encouraged, and equipped Christian leaders create thriving local churches that redeem their communities for Christ. We serve pastors and leaders by curating inspirational leadership, intentional skill development and experiences that help local churches thrive.
WCA’s passion is to help leaders worldwide—men and women—realize God’s vision for their lives, churches and communities. We share ideas and build partnerships. Through The Global Leadership Summit (TGLS) and WCA Membership we deliver vision and inspiration to resourced regions; and we bring training and opportunity to under-resourced areas.
The Global Leadership Summit is a two-day, world-class leadership event experienced by more than 170 000 leaders around the world, representing more than 14 000 churches. It’s telecast LIVE from Willow’s campus (near Chicago) every August. Throughout Spring, Summit events take place via video cast in an additional 500+ cities, 102 countries—and translated into 45 languages. This event is crafted to infuse vision, skill development and inspiration for the sake of local church transformation.
Leadership is critical to church vitality
We’re convinced that leadership is critical to church vitality. A church’s effectiveness in pursuing its God-given mission is largely dependent on the character, devotion and skill of its leadership core—which can be formal or informal, staff or volunteer, clergy or laity.
The influence and impact of the church is felt most fully when Christ-centered leaders are at the forefront of establishing and growing well-led local churches and organizations…key reasons why The Global Leadership Summit exists.
The church is at its best, as God’s love and care inevitably spills out into our neighborhoods, towns and cities through acts of love, justice, mercy, service and restoration.
The Summit is a world-class experience for leaders who want to get better. Everybody has influence and the responsibility to lead well. When cultivated in a culture of Christ-centered leadership, your influence can change lives and the organizations in which you lead. Leaders worldwide leverage the Summit to sharpen their skills and to unleash the full potential of their teams.
In South Africa this is our 10th year of presenting the Global Leadership Summit. In 2005 we served 3000 leaders at the GLS and last year we doubled that number with 6000 Christian leaders attending across South Africa. This year we are expanding and we hope to reach 8000 leaders. For your easy accessibility we have 3 venues in Gauteng, 2 in Kwa-Zulu Natal, 2 in Western Cape, 2 in Eastern Cape, 1 in Mpumalanga and 1 in Free-State.
The GLS takes place in 11 churches starting 9th October and the final day is 8th November. During this period a GLS happens every Friday and Saturday in the following cities: Johannesburg, Pretoria, Soweto, Secunda, Vanderbijlpark, Port Elizabeth, East London, Durban and Cape Town. The best sessions from the live event in Chicago will be presented via video cast supported by live elements to enhance your experience. The GLS is not just an event but a resource to be leveraged year round.
This year offers an exceptionally diverse world-class faculty. Here is the 2014 speaker line-up:
