‘God calling believers to The Return worship gathering at Loftus stadium’

‘God is calling His representatives, the Body of Christ to the capital to gather at Loftus on October 12th, 2024,” says Christian musician Joe Niemand.

The purpose of the gathering is “to appear before the King of Kings and to return our nation to Him” at a time and place that “God Himself” has determined, says Niemand on the event website https://thereturn.co.za/.

“God has given me the task to call you, in the Name of Jesus, from every corner of South Africa to The Return at Loftus. I call you to a fast during the daylight hours of October 12, as we gather to humble ourselves before our Father. To pray, to repent and to worship Him, under the direction of the Holy Spirit,” he says. It is essential to book tickets for the event on iTickets. Tickets are free.

Emphasising that the gathering is exclusively about God’s glory and will, he says: “God is moving and He will be glorified at Loftus as His children gather with no agenda, no demands, no showmanship and no one representing us, other than Christ Himself. God’s call is clear, He is not looking for people to represent His children before Him, He is looking for His Bride to represent Him. Only nobodies are welcome.

“All that is required from us is faith, humble, repentant hearts and our voices rising to Him and joining the holy worship of Heaven, before His Throne of Grace.”

In a voice message [Listen below] that he recorded on the pitch at Loftus and shared on WhatsApp, he says God gave him the vision for The Return “quite a while back” and confirmed it in January.

He says when he first shared the vision with Loftus management they were sympathetic but said they could not confirm until the middle of the year whether the stadium would be available due to “all the knockout tournaments”.

Rugby bows to Jesus

In August the stadium management told him the stadium was not available on October 12.

“The Lord then directed me to take a big Bible and to come put it on the general manager’s table and to give him a word that I had biblical proof that the event was happening on October 12th. Suffice to say, since then the leadership at Loftus and the Blue Bulls Rugby Union, between management and coaching staff, have moved the rugby out of the stadium to make it available. Rugby is a king in Pretoria and in our nation and that king has agreed now that there is a King of Kings in Pretoria in the capital and over the nation,” he says.

In the voice recording, he also says that God only released him to speak about the event on Thursday last week — nine days before the gathering. He said there is no marketing or social media campaign around The Return. Nor is it being promoted by any networks. He has just been sharing the call via his phone and asking people to share with others — “Because that’s the basis on which this is happening. Every invite is a personal one.”
