‘God calling for SA Church to become one, destroy altars of division’ — Tomi Arayomi

“South Africa, you are in a season of decision and you will decide between the glorious future I have prepared for you and the ones others have prepared for you. For I say this is the time for South Africa to arise and escape like a bird from the net that you have been trapped in.”

So said Tomi Arayomi, a prominent international prophetic voice, media personality and author, in a word he released in Empower Church, Pretoria on Sunday, after preaching a message about God’s command for his people to be one – and the need to resist the spirit of the age which aims to divide believers into camps based on exclusive lines such as race.

Prophesying over South Africa he said: “For the Spirit of God says there is an altar that has been raised up in this nation to make sure that that the people never come back together. But the Spirit of God says: ‘I am about to raise up the carpenters and I am about to raise up the blacksmiths who will rise up to destroy and to dismantle the altars that have been lifted up that say this people cannot gather back together.’ And the Spirit of God says something is happening in the heavens. The Lord says: ‘My Spirit is hovering, waiting for the wineskin to match the wine that I want to pour out. Waiting, says the Spirit of God, for the bones to collect back together, for the rain that I want to pour out.’

“And the Lord says, you will stand in a new place. And the Lord says this will no longer be a place of White versus Black. But the Lord says this will be a place of who gets the inheritance. And the Lord says the inheritance will not be decided by colour or race or creed. For the Lord says the inheritance will be decided by who is My son. For I declared: ‘You are My son. Today I become your Father. Ask Me now and I will give you nations as your inheritance.'”

Declaring what he believed God is saying, Arayomi said the Enemy is trying to make a racial issue of what He calls a sonship issue. He said God says He will not give SA to a racial group but to righteous people — to a Kingdom race that is not about colour or tribe. He also said God was calling on the nation to deal with the cry of disenfranchised young people, as “vultures are already swarming in the sky to whisper their narratives into their ears to cause violence to rise in this land”.

Addressing the multicultural congregation in Pretoria, Arayomi said: “But the Lord says: ‘I raise up this place not just as a church. I raise it up as a peace-brokering people.'” He said their diversity was not tokenism but a representation of what God wants to reproduce across SA — “for I [God] will not rest until the bones come back together.’

He urged the congregation to join him in praying against “this national altar, this national witchcraft, this bewitching, that has caused a generation to start in the Spirit and finish in the flesh”.

During his message about God’s call for a united Church, he spoke about Jesus’s prayer in John 17, in which He calls for His followers to be one as He and the Father are one. “And that prayer I believe needs to be answered here in South Africa above all places of the Earth. Because if it can be answered here in South Africa, it can happen anywhere – and that if the Church in South Africa becomes one, it will be the greatest demonstration to the nation as to what people who look different can do when they become one person.”

In an apparent reference to concerns about unrest during planned protests on June 30 over undocumented foreign nationals, he said: “If the Church won’t get this [becoming one] right, South Africa won’t get this right, and June 30th will be a disaster. But I’ve come as a prophet of God to declare that June 30th will be reversed. On the day that they intend to bring about the disaster, I declare as God’s servant, the opposite will happen.”
