God makes way for Waterberg Mighty Men again!

This past weekend — September 23 to 26 — God’s timing once again allowed some mighty men of God to gather in the Waterberg area for the second Mighty Men Conference in the area since South Africa went into lock-down in March last year.

Just as happened last year, a change in lockdown level shortly before the event, made all the difference to its success.

According to Karabo Moroka, one of the committee members and a speaker at the event, this year’s conference was preceded by much prayer and seeking the face of the Lord to direct and open the doors for men to gather. Prayers were specifically aimed at the limitations of numbers at public gatherings.

God came through again and just two weeks before the conference date the president announced that the number of people allowed to attend open air gatherings was increasing from 100 to 500 people.

When the conference finally kicked off, it bore testimony to the hand of the Lord and His faithfulness. Although many men joined via Facebook Live, 150 men were on site –including some who had attended in previous years. They were changed men — men who had put down deep roots and anchored themselves in the God they serve — said Karabo.

Mighty men

He said those who interacted with them, testify of men who had finally found their identity in Christ and along with that, the strength to be vulnerable to the Lord and those around them. This found expression in the words of a spouse of one of the prior attendees, who said: “I don’t know what you did but whatever it was, thank you! I have a new husband”.

This, said Karabo, confirmed what the organisers believed to be God’s vision for the conferences: “to equip men to walk with Christ on a daily basis”.

The go-ahead despite a decrease in numbers
He said life has been challenging like never before and men have not gone unscathed, and for this reason, the Mighty Men’s Conferences have been reinstated. Organisers are in awe, that despite smaller numbers the impact has proven to be greater!

For those feeling lost and uncertain or in desperate need of reassurance and stability and strength, attending a Mighty Men Conference {MMC) could very well be the answer to prayer, literally.

He said a MMC is an event for men by men — a place where men are celebrated, made whole and reaffirmed by their Heavenly Father. Where they are spiritually equipped to bring about change in the world around them one man at a time and where, in contrast to what society dictates, they become sharers.

Sharers of the Lord and His faithfulness, sharers of their testimonies and faith, sharers of themselves and their newfound joy in Christ.

MMC Lowveld coming up
Mighty Men will gather once more next month in the Lowveld from October 29 to 31 in Mbombela. Speakers include Angus Buchan, Johann Fullard, and Eugene Genis.
