God promised, the prophets spoke, His Word is being fulfilled! — Vivienne Myburgh

Jews from Ethiopia flying to Israel during Operation Solomon during which biblical prophecy was fulfilled — even to the extent of babies being born during the journey

There have been times that Jewish individuals have said to me that they would prefer to be like any other nation and not to be singled out as a special or chosen nation… My reply has always been that they are not…and simply cannot, be like any other nation. God has chosen them to be His people, (they accepted the invitation at Mount Sinai) and He has promised to be their God!

“For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; but because the Lord loves you, and because He would keep His oath which He swore to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.” — Deut. 7: 6-8

The greatest miracle of the ancient world was when God set His people free from Egypt. The nations witnessed the miracle, recorded it and feared the God of Israel as a result of it!

Yet the prophets wrote that a day would come when another miracle would exceed even that one — “So then, the days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when people will no longer say, ‘As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites up out of Egypt,’ but they will say, ‘As surely as the LORD lives, who brought the descendants of Israel up out of the land of the north and out of all the countries where he had banished them.’ Then they will live in their own land.” — Jer.31: 7-8

Moscow is due north from Jerusalem. Between 1990 and 2000 close to one million Russian Jews made Aliyah (immigrated) to Israel.

God has been faithful to bring the Jewish people back from all the nations where He scattered them, in fulfilment of the words of His prophets, spoken thousands of years before.

Another beautiful example of His Word being fulfilled in detail found in the following prophecy:

“Behold, I will bring them from the north country
And gather them from the ends of the earth
Among them the blind and the lame
The women with child and the one who labours with child together
A great throng shall return there
They shall come with weeping…For I am a father to Israel and Ephraim is My firstborn. — Jer.31:8

In 1991 Israel realised that she had to move quickly to airlift out a large group of Ethiopian Jews waiting to come home, whose lives were in danger. Israel called it Operation Solomon.

Israel flew in 35 planes under cover of night and airlifted out 14 325 people within 36 hours. Some of the EL AL passenger planes had their seats removed to make space and 1 122 people were packed into one of the Boeing 747 planes. This remains a world record for the highest number of people ever packed into a passenger plane.

Many pregnant women (women with child) climbed onto the planes. By the time they landed at Ben Gurion airport, five women had given birth on the flights home that evening…”The women with child and the one who labours together” had come home in detailed fulfilment of the prophet’s words.

The prophets continued to write in detail about how the land would respond to her rightful owners returning home again…

“In the days to come Jacob will take root,
Israel will blossom and sprout,
And they will fill the whole world with fruit.” — Isaiah 27:6

In 2018 tiny Israel exported 90 000 tonnes of fruit, to the nations of the world, over and above feeding her own people.

Amos also wrote: “I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel and they shall rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them.
They shall plant vineyards and drink their wine
And they shall make gardens and eat their fruit
I will plant them in their land and they shall never again be uprooted out of the land that I have given them, says the Lord.” — Amos 9:15

Israel has planted vineyards and today produces some of the best wine in the world.

Even though Israel is surrounded by Arabs who have 640 times more land and 350 million more people than her, many of whom would like to see her destroyed and expelled from the land again, God was clear through Amos the prophet, that never again would He allow them to be uprooted from the land again!

ICEJ recently marked the special anniversary of 30 years of sponsoring Aliyah flights of Jewish people coming home from the nations. A few months after the former Soviet Union had opened to finally “Let My people go” the German and Finnish branch of the ICEJ sponsored the ICEJ’s very first charter flight of Jews making Aliyah from Russia, which landed at Ben-Gurion Airport on May 28 1990.

We can rejoice in God’s faithfulness, as the ICEJ has now assisted more than 157 000 Jews to make Aliyah since its founding 40 years ago.

Despite all the recent global travel bans due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem was still able to bring a remarkable 1 000 Jewish immigrants on flights to Israel in the last four months, by funding Aliyah flights for 234 Ethiopian Jews and 766 Jews from across the former Soviet Union between February 20 and June 16.

“The Corona pandemic has brought much suffering and negative headlines all over the world, but one of the positive stories coming out of this crisis is the surprising surge in Aliyah, as many Jewish families are seeking a way to reach Israel as soon as possible”, said ICEJ

President Dr Jürgen Bühler said: “We are both honoured and elated to play a key role in this unique chapter in the modern-day return to Israel, even a global pandemic could not stop Jewish people from finding their way home to Israel.”

We are working closely with the Jewish Agency to keep up the pace of flying 250 new immigrants to Israel each month through till the end of the year.
You can be a part of the ongoing miracle of bringing the Jewish people home by partnering with the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ).

He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; He will collect the scattered of Judah from the four corners of the earth. — Isaiah 11:12.
