Hardship — Angus Buchan

Hope

Robert Schuller once said: “Tough times don’t last, but tough people do.” No pain, no gain.

If we look at the Word of God in Romans 5:3 & 4 (NKJV) — 3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope we see that we must not turn our backs on hardships, but we must front up and face it.

Many of these hardships are allowed by God, to toughen us up, there’s no doubt about it. If I look back on my own life, over the last 43 years, since I’ve walked closely with Jesus Christ, the most memorable, the most lasting memories that I have are undoubtedly through times of hardship, pain and suffering. I’m not saying that God caused them, but He allowed me to walk through them Those are the things that have built up any character that I have. It was not through the happy times, not through the prosperous times, not through the good times, no, but rather through the times of hardship and tribulation.

So today do not be alarmed, don’t be afraid because you happen to be going through a tough time. Just look to Jesus, trust Him and He will bring you right through it and you will be much better for it when you get out the other side.

Jesus bless you, Angus Buchan.
