Amid multiple crises and rising antisemitism around the world, there is unprecedented spiritual hunger among Jewish people.
So concludes a Jews for Jesus Impact Report announcing a five-year vision to expand the ministry.
Entitled The Nets are Breaking, it is rooted in the story from chapter five of Luke’s Gospel of how the first disciples had an abundant catch of fish when they obeyed their master’s instructions.
Writing of the urgency of the mission, CEO Aaron Abramson says their team “believe the good news of Jesus is the only true hope for our Jewish people”.
In 2025, they saw a 130% increase in decisions for Messiah in Israel itself. And in their bold new plan, they are sending out more workers to share the message in a meaningful and culturally sensitive way.
Their So Be It! YouTube channel has reached 90 million views since its launch. And with a conservative estimate of 10% Jewish viewership, it amounts to a very significant number of Jews engaging with Gospel-centred content.
Outreach centres include a café in Tel Aviv and a coffee shop in New York where a young lady called Ellie found her Messiah and is now serving her fellow students as a barista there.
Church planting in Israel, where Hebrew-speaking congregations are still scarce, is also bearing fruit. They have even made “remarkable” inroads into the Haredi (Ultra-Orthodox) community, a traditionally closed society, with over a thousand new contacts made last year — more than double the previous year.
One Israeli wrote: “As I read [the Gospel of] John, I felt a jolt of electricity… I knew Jesus is the one and only Saviour. I prayed and asked him to help me follow [him].”
In Tel Aviv, they are also reaching out to the homeless, those struggling with addiction and others trapped in prostitution, welcoming and feeding over 3,500 people at their soup kitchen last year.
Australia’s Jewish community has also been very much on their agenda. A child who had attended their Shabbat gatherings was tragically among the 15 people slain during the Hanukkah massacre on Bondi Beach.
“She was known and loved within the community our team walks alongside every day. Five more of our contacts were injured in the shooting, and we were present in the days and weeks following to offer tangible support, comfort and hope.”
In America, the Jews for Jesus team were profoundly shaken by the tragic loss of Yaron Lischinsky and his fiancée Sarah Milgrim, fatally shot in a terrorist attack in Washington. “Yaron was an Israeli Messianic believer who had grown up in church alongside several members of our staff.”
They further report overwhelmingly positive response from Haredi neighbourhoods in Los Angeles and Brooklyn. “People appreciated seeing Christians take a clear, compassionate stand.” They even found themselves serving coffee to exhausted firefighters in LA during the devastating wildfires there.
The report adds: “Around the world Jewish people are more open to the Gospel than we’ve seen in generations. But we are facing an immediate challenge: there are not enough disciple makers, communities of faith, or culturally contextualized resources to meet the need. God is calling us to cast our nets wider.”
