RJ Rempel reflects on the 2026 Love Africa conference which took place at the OM base in Kabwe, Zambia from August 20 to 23

The annual Love Africa conference brings Jesus followers from across the continent together in Kabwe, Zambia, for three-and-a-half days of worship, main sessions, workshops, networking, prayer and fellowship.

Organised by Operation Mobilisation (OM), the conference is hosted at the OM base in Zambia. At this year’s gathering, more than 900 participants from 49 nations delved into the theme: “God’s Mission, Our Collaboration”. The theme was inspired by 1 Corinthians 3:8–9: The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labour. For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.

Throughout the event, 10 guest speakers addressed attendees, focusing on God’s Mission: The Big Picture, Our Role: Called as Co-Workers and Our Collaboration: Advancing Together. Videos of the teachings are available on Love Africa’s YouTube channel.

Pastor Alick (Zambia) described the main sessions as very relevant and meaningful. “Personally, I was so blessed with a lot of lessons and teachings as a pastor and leader,” he reflected. “Seeing believers in Christ and leaders in the Body of Christ coming together, fellowshipping, learning together from different countries — it was so amazing and awesome… I can’t wait for 2027 to learn more.”

For Tumaini (Tanzania), the “greatest takeaway was the importance of collaboration. Firstly, God wants us to collaborate with Him by cultivating a daily walk and a close relationship with Him. Secondly, He wants us to collaborate with others because we cannot fulfil God’s mission alone. I was also challenged to cast my net deeper — to go deeper and do more for the Kingdom of God. This means being intentional about winning souls, reaching the unreached and spreading the true Gospel so that people can be drawn to Christ.”

Each afternoon, participants could attend workshops on topics such as From Africa to the Nations: African Resilience in Global Missions, AI and Digital Influence for Kingdom Impact and Economic Empowerment as Missions. OM worker Himidi (Malawi) said: “The workshop on church and marketplace partnership in missions was life-changing for me. It gave me a clearer sense of direction regarding my calling.”
