Mossel Bay preparing for 300 000 people at first Mighty Men event

Members of the Mossel Bay prayer group, Coffee for Men meet on July 21 to launch Mighty Men Conference Mossel Bay

Mossel Bay will be hosting it’s first Mighty Men Conference from Friday December 15 to Sunday December 17 — and they are preparing to receive a record 300 000 people over the weekend.

“We have the confidence and trust that God will send the men that need to hear His message, we are just setting the platform, He will send the people,” says MMC Mossel Bay chairman Lukas Swart.

He believes that many of the visitors from all over South Africa who flock to Mossel Bay in December will attend the event, themed “Arise Mossel Bay” on Bartelfontein Farm outside the Garden Route town.

“December 16 is a day of reconciliation and a public holiday, and we believe that we will see the powerful action of the Holy Spirit to bring reconciliation in families and communities in Mossel Bay and beyond,” says Swart.

The inaugural MMC Mossel Bay was initiated by a local prayer group called Coffee for Men.

Men are encouraged to camp at the event but day visitors are welcome. The MMC is for men only on the Friday and Saturday and for the whole family on the Sunday. There will be an opportunity for families to be baptised and for boys to be declared men by their families. Keynote speakers for the event are currently being finalised (See website for latest details).

Food stalls and braai facilities will be available for both campers and day visitors.

“The costs of staging it are very high but we believe the Lord will put it in the hearts of our community to contribute in terms of time and donations,” says Swart.
