Open Doors Southern Africa has launched an exciting video series, FaithFluencers, to inspire viewers through the stories of persecuted Christians.
The series on Open Doors SA’s Youtube channel started in early August and consists of 13 episodes which are streamed on Sundays at 8pm.
Open Doors, a well-known ministry organisation that supports and strengthens persecuted Christians in more than 65 countries around the world, wants to inspire believers in Southern Africa to live differently through FaithFluencers.
Call for involvement
The programme includes powerful testimonies and touching stories from the persecuted Church and will give viewers insight into the lives of persecuted Christians around the world. It also offers an opportunity for people to get directly involved with Christians who are persecuted for their faith.
The series presenter is a well-known local actress, Vicky Kente. Her heart-warming presentation style will encourage viewers to immediately get involved with the persecuted Church and support their family of faith.
Some highlights
Among the highlights are two episodes where Morné Ras, regional manager of Open Doors, shares “Lessons from God’s University” — learnings and testimonies from his own journey with the persecuted Church.
Vicky also talks to Mamah Sebofi from Open Doors in two different episodes. In her first episode, Mamah talks about intersession and the importance of prayer for the persecuted Church. In her second episode, she focuses on the Church in Nigeria, which is under constant attack. She shares a testimony about her journey to this country.
Other highlights include an episode where pastor Gavin Wood sheds light on church leadership and how church leaders can involve their churches with the persecuted Church; and an episode where Adil Jabril, a persecution analyst for Open Doors in sub-Sahara Africa, talks about the persecution of Christians in Africa.
Travel to the persecuted Church
Several episodes focus on testimonies of people who had the opportunity to travel with Open Doors to the persecuted Church. Justice Ngesi, a traveller to the persecuted Church, and Sam (pseudonym), travel coordinator at Open Doors, let the spotlight fall on “Travel to the persecuted Church to meet and encourage persecuted believers”. Kerusha George, a board member at Open Doors, tells viewers more about “The FaithFluencers of India: Travelling and meeting persecuted believers from India”.
Viewers can also look forward to testimonies from North Korea, Egypt and an episode about the persecution of Christian women.
Another traveller to the persecuted Church, Heleen McCullum, will talk about the children of Colombia and the Open Doors children’s centre there, while Willie van Wyk, a manager at Open Doors, elaborates about “Children in the persecuted Church and refugee children from Syria who stay in a refugee camp in Lebanon”.
An important message…
“May God open a door through FaithFluencers for the message of our persecuted family of faith to spread over country borders and prison walls. Don’t worry if you have missed an episode – after the broadcasting date, all episodes will still be available on YouTube for people who want to watch it later,” says Open Doors.
