Presidents, premiers, royalty urged to attend national repentance day in heart of KZN

Princess Kholeka Mkheti, a Gauteng intercessor and member of the National Prayer of Repentance organising committee

God wants the president, past presidents and royalty to be part of a national repentance and fasting gathering at Nongoma, northern KwaZulu-Natal on July 18.

So say the organisers of the event which was inspired by prophetic dreams [see prophetic word] in which God told Eastern Cape seer Khalipa Nomtha Mboneli to call national leaders and South African citizens to gather on July 18 to repent for “abominations” committed in SA and to return the nation to the Lord.

In a message inviting people to attend the event at the Entabeni venue in Nongoma, from 9am to 4pm on July 18, the National Prayer of Repentance organising committee says: “We believe South Africa stands at a crucial juncture, necessitating a period of profound spiritual renewal and a recommitment to unity under God. This event responds to a widely perceived spiritual need for national contrition and a turning towards God for the healing and restoration of our land and its people.”

“For true national healing, repentance will include specific acts of contrition from the government, the church, and the kingship (amakhosi).”

Princess Kholeka Mkheti, a member of the committee, said that intercessors from various parts of South Africa had helped to put together “puzzle pieces” necessary to confirm the correct location and timing for the event. One “piece” was provided by Prince Phumuzuzulu Zulu, a son on the late King Goodwill Zwelithini, and a member of the prayer committee, who had confirmed that there was a mountain, not far from his family palace, that sounded like a mountain that recurred in Khalipa’s dreams. Khalipa travelled to Nongoma, which is 300km north of Durban, and confirmed that it was the place God had indicated to her.

Kholeka said it is amazing that the date of the repentance event, July 18, is the birthday of former president Nelson Mandela, and a day on which people in many places devote 67 minutes to making a positive impact in their communities. Maybe God wanted to rather align people with repentance on this July 18, she said.

She also said that the location of the event, in the rural heart of KZN, is significant, as many things that are contaminating the nation are coming from the province.

She said she is busy mobilising churches and leaders to support the national repentance event. She had already sent invitations to some key leaders, including the Premier of the Eastern Cape, Oscar Mbuyane and Prince Zuzifa Buthelezi, son and traditional successor of the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelzi and member of the National Assembly. She said the committee will probably also send invitiations to the Office of the President, former president Jacob Zuma, ministers of the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, kings and traditional leaders.

Kholeka, Sebaka Nichodimus Molapo (project manager of the repentance event), and other intercessors, are setting out this evening on a 600km bus trip from Gauteng to Richards Bay, the nearest major centre to Nongoma. From there they will travel to Nongoma to meet with Zulu royalty who they want to participate in the event. They will also spend time on the repentance prayer day site to determine logistics needs for the day.
