‘Prophesied unstoppable revival of prayer is here’

An unstoppable revival of prayer will usher in one of the greatest revivals the world has ever seen — and it will start in South Africa, said prophetic voice Kim Clement in a prophecy released in 2008.

The prophesied unstoppable revival of prayer is here, said Apostle Linda Gobodo of Healing the Nation of Africa from Cape to Cairo prayer movement in an interview this week in which she spoke about their remarkable prayer journey over the past five years and some of the prayer and prophetic foundations that preceded the prayer movement.

“We’re not saying we’re the only ones who are praying. But this has been consistent, you know, and you can’t stop it. This thing is going on,” she said.

The Healing the Nation of Africa prayer movement was launched with a few people on April 25 2020, at first to pray against the Covid pandemic, but over time the focus changed to praying for godly change and revival in South Africa and Africa, and for Israel. For the past five years, the group, which now numbers about 80 intercessors, has been praying four times a day – from 6am to 8am, from 12 noon to 1pm, from 6pm to 7pm and from midnight to 3am.

Waging war over prophetic words

In a prophetic word released on August 7 2020, Jennifer LeClaire said South Africa is “the tipping point to awakening a continent” and it was “time for the intercessors to tap into the prophetic words and prayers spoken over South Africa from many days gone by”. She also said: “It’s time to tap into the 1 Timothy 1:8 charge to wage war with the prophetic words spoken over the nation.”

Since the release of that word, the Healing the Nation of Africa intercessors have been using their midday prayer slot to pray intensively over a prophetic words from a 1book of prophecies about SA which they have compiled. They “wage war” over one or two prophecies per week.

Since July last year, the team has also pursued a God-inpsired initiative to visit cities, towns and villages in SA and the nations to ignite revival fires. Gobodo explained that the origin of the initiative dates back to 2014 when she connected with Intercessors from Elujizweni, a village in the Eastern Cape where revival broke out on the March 21 1953. During a celebration of 70 years of revival on March 29 2024, a word was delivered, saying the Lord was releasing a new power that comes with fire, boldness and courage to empower them to run to nations — and that God would go with them as they went

Gobodo said the team received the word and prayed into it, until May last year, when God said they should start going to cities and towns and villages and nations to ignite revival fires. They obeyed, and since last July, starting at Potchefstroom, they have held revival fire meetings at 14 locations across South Africa. They have also ignited revival fires in Rwanda, Lesotho, the United Kingdom and Botswana.

“From that time, we have never stopped. We go, we have a session — maybe one day or two days of just ministering prophetically, ministering the word, worship, praying for people, releasing the fire. And we’ve had amazing testimonies from the places that we’ve gone to,” she said.

Wells of revival

Their last meeting was on April 12 and 13 in Duncan Village where they also went “to dig wells of revival” that have been lying dormant since Rev Nicholas Bhengu was used by the Lord to bring revival in SA in October 1950, she said. During their meetings they received prophetic confirmation that the revival well had been opened. Towards the end of their last meeting they heard a strong wind and the door suddenly swung open. Gobodo said she believes it was “an angel of the winds” come to blow away demons, as prophesied in Kim Clement’s 2008 word.

The team’s next revival fire meeting will be this weekend at the House of Bread, Bloemfontein — at 10am on May 10 and 11. Gobodo said the revival fire movement was gaining momentum with more and more people travelling from afar to join the local events. She knows of about 30 people who will be visiting Bloemfontein for the events.

She said they advertise the start time of the revival fire meetings but the end time is determined by the Holy Spirit; sometimes the meetings go on for six or seven hours.

Gobodo said that while they were on the road they had a fresh insight into a July 2020 prophetic word, in which Rebecca Greenwood said that as they gathered together in person there would be a Pentecost fire explosion. “So we are understanding that these ‘sparks’ [at different locations] will come together and there will be an explosion at some point.”

The revival of prayer that has been building over the past five years, was preceded by a significant foundational season. Around 2011 the Lord spoke to Gobodo about gathering houses of prayer she had been establishing in SA and different nations. They were to meet during the third week of August to pray for a prayer revival. From 2012 to 2019 they gathered together at this time each year. In 2020 they could not gather physically, because of the Covid pandemic, but they held a virtual meeting on Zoom. Then the Lord told her that what He wanted (an unstoppable revival of prayer) was done.

Now, she said: “We are trusting and believing God for the explosion of the revival, because the promise has been there for a long time that the revival will start from South Africa and spread to the whole continent and to the ends of the earth.

“But we never knew how. But now we understand that it’s through prayer. The Lord did say the revival will be birthed through prayer and worship. And it will be sustained through prayer and worship.”
