Ramaphosa’s decision an answer to prayer, says Michael Louis

Dr Michael Louis

ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa has won back his credibility by securing a clear mandate from the party’s National Executive Committee to form a government of national unity, said Dr Michael Louis founder and chair of the Independent Candidate Association.

While many people have been disillusioned with Ramaphosa’s leadership over the past year, we must remember that with issues like Covid, the July 21 riots and the Zondo Commission, he has had the toughest road of all presidents, Louis told Gateway News. However, he said, Ramaphosa “has come up trumps with a proposal whereby for once and for all we will have a government that can focus on a contract of delivery, helping the poor, financial management, a constitutional state, observation of the rule of law, and definitely a fiscal plan that will take our country forward”.

“I think the other aspect to mention is that this is also going to be a testing time for the bridges of trust between all the political parties to see how they can work together. So, what Cyril has done is he’s now got a mandate, and he’s going to speak to all the political parties and invite them to be part of government, and then once that happens, they’re all going to participate and have positions in the executive, the legislature, standing committees.

“But he even said that it will go down to the provinces and the local government sphere. So I think what they’re going to do is they’re going to negotiate a deal that will be all three spheres of government, which will really be a good thing.

“So there’s going to be a lot of shifting, and I really believe God has answered our prayers and it’s in the right direction,” he said.

Louis, who has been at the forefront of a lengthy, and ongoing, civil society struggle to secure electoral reform, said: “I’ve never had more hope, I’ve never been more excited to participate. And lastly Cyril has also invited a think tank of not only all political parties, but civil society and all stakeholders to meet in the coming months to have a legotla where they are going to discuss the future of the country and how best to do it. So, I really believe it’s a new season. God has ushered in this new season for blessings, and I really think it’s going to be outstanding.”

Announcing the government of national unity proposal on Thursday, Ramaphosa said the ANC had met with the EFF, NFP, IFP, PA and the DA, thus far. Since then, the EFF has said it will not participate in a government that includes the DA or FF+, and the DA has said it would not be willing to co-govern with the EFF or MK.

Interesting article, however it does not make mention of how our Govt’s stand against Israel impacts the nation and future consequences of their decision to stand against Israel, to lie about Israel and misrepresentation of facts, resulting in hatred of Israel amongst our citizens.

It is my opinion that journalism should represent ALL the facts, including Biblical facts, so that people may know. The people perish because of lack of knowledge.

Why should SA perish because of lack of full disclosure which allows well-informed decisions?

  2. All I know is things have to change. I Pray that Holy Spirit will reveal to the people what changes they have to make in their thought, attitude and actions to better our country. I pray that the rulers will have no tollerance for riotors and welcome and back all people who are for upliftment of others. May they start with the Govermental departments of health and education..millions was wasted on elaborated Self enriched salaries and name changes, while teachers work at tills and nurses works in office jobs. Many schools stand empty and hositals are a scary place…a death sentence. If the right people with the right mindset and governing will direct them to be better use the funds to really do what is should . Getting infrastructure back on track and make sure the employees are living out the true value of service to the nation the moral of daily living will be uplifted. People will be able to go back to work quicker as they received proper medication and care in time. Children will be having education in their own comminities and the current system will not be overloaded as it ia at this moment. When Churches have an input in their communities and are not allowed to enrich thenmselves while their communities suffer ( as should the rulers of goverment). Communities will uplift good leaders and look after them, for they know a good leader is for the people and not his pocket. May God bring such leader into this counry flowing down from Parlement to every department in our country. Honouring the needs, filling the gaps, creating work by establishing proper work ethics and no tollerance for corruption / bribery. By allowing our people to love with dignity knowi v this country looks after the citizens first! Let God be the leader of our new rulong government!

    Roads can be better
    Economy can grow
A lot of things will be better for the people
    BUT:
    Abortions is stil there
Same sex marriages is stil there
    Ungodly laws go on
God name is still not in the constitution

    Satan still score

My question is – HOW CAN IT BE AN ANSWER ON PRAY.
    God score nothing.

We must start thinking spiritual and not in the flesh.

It looks good if all parties work together but we need a change from ungodly laws to the Bible
