Renowned Ugandan preacher leads prayers for healing of SA-Israel relations

James Kawalya

James Kawalya, a well-known Gospel preacher and intercessor from Uganda who once was a grandmaster in the occult world, led prayer in Johannesburg at the weekend for healing relations between South Africa and Israel.

His prayer was during a session of a five-day, multidenominational Christian conference, the Consecration for Revival, South Africa at the Good News Convention Centre.

Earlier this year Kawalya released a message warning South Africans about the implications of their government’s decision to take Israel to the International Court of Justice. He explained that while South Africa was accusing Israel at the World Court, Satan had brought a case against the nation before the Lord to secure unprecedented destruction upon the land. This word has been confirmed by other prophets around the world like Cindy Jacobs, Arleen Westerhof and others in SA.

Kawalya held the flags of South Africa and Israel together and prayed for the end of hostility and conflict between the two nations — an outcome which he said he was willing to pursue even if it cost him a million dollars. After much prayer he declared the nations to be brothers and joy erupted in the meeting.

South Africa’s case against Israel has stirred up the ancient spirit of antisemitism in the world and mobilised support for a modern-day version of the evil agenda to wipe Israel from the face of the earth, which is vocalised with chants of “from the river to the sea”. Over generations many nations have pursued this agenda but failed, as recorded in Psalm 83:4 — “Come,” they say, “let us destroy them as a nation, so that Israel’s name is remembered no more.” While Israel has survived repeated attempts to wipe it out, the global surge in antisemitism since the Hamas massacre in Israel on October 7 is traumatic for Jews everywhere.

This hatred for Israel being stirred up by the ANC government is nothing new in Africa. In the early days of the formation of the Africa Union, Egypt and other Arab nations who did not want to recognise the establishment of the one and only Jewish State in the world, sought to influence newly-liberated African nations to stand against Israel.

Egypt had gained independence much earlier than other African nations, and together with Ethiopia, was leading the process of the liberation of the rest of Africa. As a result they  played a big role in supporting liberation movements across the continent, who in turn were compelled to stand with Egypt against Israel.

Support from Egypt, Morroco, Algeria and Ethiopia helped the ANC to establish Mkhonto we Sizwe, its military wing. The ANC freedom fighters were trained together with Palestinian Liberation Organisation fighters, which explains the current “brotherhood” of the ANC with Palestinians.

As a result of the influence of Egypt at the Africa Union, most African countries decided to cut ties with Israel after the October 6 1973 Yom Kippur war.  Many newly-liberated nations in the continent had enjoyed good relations with Israel, as Israel had invested in supporting the development of Africa in line with Theodore Herzel’s words: “Once I have witnessed the redemption of the Jews, my people, I wish also to assist in the redemption of the Africans.”

Uganda was among the first nations to have good relations with Israel, however this changed even before the Yom Kippur war. The president of Uganda, Idi Amin, who had been trained as a paratrooper by Israel, expelled all Jews from Uganda in March 1972.  This decision ushered Uganda into a season of deep darkness and suffering. After the Jews, he expelled the Indians, and remaining upright Ugandans bore the brunt of his brutalities.

Ethiopia, as the home of the African Union, was also targeted by Egypt to influence newly-liberated nations of Africa to cut ties with Israel. While many other factors were at play, as soon as Ethiopia cut ties with Israel under Emperor Haile Selassie, the nation went into a time of social instability and famine. Within a year the empire collapsed. The slogan “Down with Zionism” was often chanted across nations as they were cutting ties with Israel, in the same way we hear the genocidal chant “from the river to the sea” in South Africa today — most recently uttered by President Cyril Ramaphosa at a weekend ANC rally. Indeed, there is nothing new under the sun.

What is also very sad is that President Sadat of Egypt, who instigated Africa to cut ties with Israel, later signed a peace agreement recognising the State of Israel on March 26 1979, while other nations remained disconnected to the Genesis 12:3 blessing of Israel — I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.

It is clear that leaders like Kawalya from Uganda, are able to decipher through the deception and propaganda against Israel. Unlike South Africans, he knows the cost his nation paid for expelling and standing against Israel. The same can be said of the Vice President of the ICJ, Judge Julia Sebutinde who is also from Uganda. Having tasted the bitterness of the mistake made by their political leaders to cut ties with Israel they are now unafraid to be bold and unwavering in their support for Israel despite the many voices.

The prayers and boldness of these Ugandans is an encouragement for South Africans to begin the work of healing fractured relations with Israel.

The timing of the Consecration for Revival conference, which ends today, was divine. It ran just before our elections, and a trip to Israel, which begins tomorrow night after we have voted, and which our group booked long before the election day was announced or we knew that James Kawalya would visit SA.

Well done Woman of Faith. It was indeed a powerful and ordained consecration camp for South Africa that reversed judgement upon us as a nation. Our nation being sold on by antichrist organizations. Thank God for loving South Africa and reversed the curse and judgement on our generation.
