Sixth Mighty Men Conference Jeffreys Bay nearly here

Excitement among the volunteer organising committee members, and those who have already booked their tickets, is tangible. The grounds are nearly ready and Mighty Men Jeffreys Bay 2024 kicks off officially from March 22 to 24.

Last year’s conference left many attendees with testimonies of signs and wonders, one of which was a ring which appeared around the sun as thousands prayed for rain in the Kouga region with guest speaker Agus Buchan. Not so ironically, in nature, a circular rainbow around the sun usually signifies the coming of rain. Less than seven months later, the Kouga dam went from less than 5% capacity to overflowing for the first time in years.

Everyone is looking forward to this year’s conference with high expectations. The conference never disappoints and not one year’s event feels the same as the next. One thing is certain, the Spirit is tangible each year as thousands descend on Farm Mooi Uitsig to receive word from carefully-chosen guest speakers. 

This year’s theme is “Fearless” Tim 2 1:7, which states: “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”. Men from all walks of life are invited to come together to enjoy praise and worship led by East London team “Midpoint Worship” before each guest speaker. 

This year’s guest speakers have been confirmed as Zane Meas, Ockie Fourie, Morné Venter, Martin Douglas and Eugene Genis. Phillip Doubell will be MC. Friday and Saturday is aimed at ministering to the men and boys. R50 covers the entire weekend with an optional camping spot. Day visitors are welcome. Cold water showers are available and attendees are reminded that water on the farm is for washing only. Food and drink vendors will also be available. Campers are reminded to bring their own tent and bedding, toilet paper, chair, hat, sunscreen and tick/mosquito repellant. Ladies and the rest of the family are invited to join on “free-entry” Sunday. 

There is a new “feature” on the website this year:  the ability to pre-order from a range of branded clothing and patches. Ordering before the conference  minimises the chances of disappointment when looking for your size. You are encouraged to order in advance as there will be limited stock on the weekend.
