‘SA, will your YES spark the nation’s turnaround?’ asks worship movement leader, ahead of Joburg event with Sean Feucht on Saturday

South African Burn 24/7 leader Pete Gooch writes this preview/call to action regarding a free open-air worship event on Saturday with Sean Feucht, the fiery leader of the Let Us Worship movement. Let Us Worship held mass, open-air worship meetings across the United States during the pandemic when indoor church gatherings were banned and freedom to worship was under attack

One “YES” during the pandemic plague woke up 170+ cities across the USA, reminding us that the Church was never the building. It’s always been us.

I believe this bold call by Sean Feucht and the Let Us Worship Movement to let our voice be heard, to be the Church, has given courage to many lukewarm believers in the US and beyond to choose to stand in this hour and in the days that lie ahead.

Now we in South Africa get the privilege of being the first nation other than America to worship the Lord together with Sean and the Let Us Worship team. Sean Feucht and his family, together with an international team, are traveling from the US for this momentous gathering, calling the people of God to encounter the fire and passion of His Presence in increasing intensity.

This is a kairos opportunity for the Body of Christ to come together and release the sound of heaven over our nation!

During Let Us Worship events across USA during the pandemic, united persistent petitions and prayers resulted in radical repentance, addictions broken, outdoor baptisms, hours of power declarations and praise. The event united races, churches and ministries in cities, ministered to the poor and destitute and brought hope to many.              

Could it be that this timely call across America, sparked by one man’s “YES”, could be helping to shift the course of culture, and the history of a nation as believers begin to walk boldly in their calling in their daily lives?

YES !! I believe that one “Yes” has even influenced a nation to say “Yes” to life, possibly saving millions of lives a year with the US Supreme Court’s historic reversal of the anti-life Roe v Wade ruling. So maybe you were born in South Africa to be our next David or Deborah, Miriam or Daniel. If the youngest of a Jewish family could take down the “mighty” Goliath, why not? Have we forgotten our identity? Have we listened to the big mouths too long to move, limited our God and what He can do through our “Yes”!?

Our “Yes” starts now as you read this. It starts in our bedrooms, when we wake up, starts when we open our mouths, talk to our families, friends and workfellows. It starts in the classrooms, in the boardroom or bar. Yes we are proudly South African and unashamedly ethical, but firstly we are Kingdom ambassadors, unashamed of our King!   

Start now. Start each day when you put on your top. Imagine Creator God giving you your ambassador’s badge or “corporal stripes” for the day. 

We repent of our excuses, confess our failures, renew our minds daily as to who He says we are.
