The People Vs e.tv (Phase 2)

Defending family, faith and freedom

Despite assurances to their advertisers that “Naked News” contradicted the channels “high family values,” e.tv again broadcasted the appallingly sexist strip show on Saturday 2 July at 1:10am.

The channel of “high family values” also aired several pornographic SMS adverts that have proven to be harmful to children. Many reports have emerged over the past five years indicating children are downloading porn to their cell phones and sharing these hard-core images with their friends.

I am reliably informed that e.tv is considering broadcasting additional episodes of “Naked News.”

It appears e.tv is emboldened by the recent ruling of the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of SA that found nothing wrong with women stripping naked on national free-to-air television.

The Body of Christ must not relent in its defence of the dignity of women and children in SA!

As a result of the channel’s rejection of the valid concerns of thousands of Christians, I have embarked upon the 2nd phase of our campaign against e.tv’s pro-porn programming schedule.

I have written to the CEOs of several companies currently advertising on e.tv, explaining why programs like “Naked News” and porn SMS adverts are harmful to women and children in SA.

I have requested the advertisers consider cancelling their ad campaigns on e.tv until the channel agrees to permanently remove pornographic movies, adverts & strip shows from its schedule.

I also explained that there is a growing call from Christians for a targeted boycott of all products and services advertised on E-tv. The channel will arrogantly continue broadcasting sexually explicit content on national free-to-air television as long as they enjoy the support of their advertisers.

You and I must have the courage of our convictions to stay the course and continue the fight against porn on national TV. Millions of SA families are at risk when porn is made acceptable.

Depending on the advertiser’s response, FPI may have to launch a nationwide boycott of all products and services advertised on e.tv to pressure the channel into changing its policies.

Please note, this is not only about e.tv but about the greater battle to defend the family against a growing onslaught of sexually explicit content appearing in various public media platforms.

The Body of Christ in SA must stand united in its defence of the God-given institutions of marriage and the family if we have any hope of building a strong, healthy and prosperous society.

Thousands of young men are lured into debilitating porn addictions through programs like “Naked News.” Porn addictions eventually lead to sexual dysfunction and the breakdown of marriages.

The great reformer, Martin Luther declared, “If I profess with loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved.”

The battle is raging against the family. You must answer the call of God to defend this most ancient of institutions. Please stand with me as a loyal soldier to defeat the anti-family agenda in SA.
