When we look at Matthew 14:34-36 (NKJV), the Bible tells us that people came from far and wide just to touch Jesus so that they could be made well and healed from their illnesses.
In these days so many of us are concerned about every other aspect of life and not so concerned about spending time with Jesus. You see, Jesus is not only our Healer, He is also our Saviour, Shepherd and Provider. He is everything that we need. There are many, many scriptures in the Word of God which tell of people desiring just to touch Jesus in order to receive healing and wholeness. But that touch requires faith.
We have all read the account of the woman with an issue of blood, who pushed through the crowd believing that, if she could just touch even the hem of His garment, she would be made well. She touched His garment and Jesus turned around immediately asking who had touched Him. He was aware that someone had needed healing even though the disciples replied that it was not possible to know who touched Him because people were all around Him pushing against Him from every side. The Bible tells us that because He looked around for the one who had in faith touched Him, the woman admitted her need. To her, He said “Woman, your faith has made you well.”
I really want to encourage all of us to walk more by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7, NKJV). God knows the plans He has for each one of our lives. The greatest revival the world has ever seen is still yet to come. Right now times are hard but its in the hard times that people begin to seek the Lord.
1 Corinthians 2:9 (NKJV) says this “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man. The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” God has got many things prepared for His own. He delights when we desire to draw closer to Him and to “touch His garment.” He will even increase our faith if we would ask in order to receive from Him what we need. And He will heal us and fill us and make us whole. Then we can become effective for the Kingdom of God here on earth.
May God bless you as you continue to seek Him with all your heart.
