WATCH: FOR SA expands on why Expropriation Bill is threat to religious freedom

In this video, Freedom of Religion SA (FOR SA) executive director Michael Swain and FOR SA attorney Liesl Pretorius delve deeper into why FOR SA believes that the controversial bill is a thinly veiled threat to religious freedom.

Last week Gateway News published an article by FOR SA explaining the background to the bill and concerns that in its current form the bill exposes property used for religious purposes to the risk of expropriation without compensation.

Since last week’s article Liesl Pretorius has presented a verbal submission on the bill at a public hearing hosted by the Western Cape provincial legislature. Watch the video for an update on FOR SA’s concerns and recommendations.
