WATCH: Protest outside Parliament to ‘wake-up’ government and Church on Israel

A group of South African Christian supporters of Israel participated in a lively protest outside Parliament last Friday to warn the government about its hostile attitude to Israel and to wake up Church leaders regarding the truth about Israel.

In a video clip of the event, [see video below] author, artist, and speaker Liz Campbell explains that she arranged the gathering out of a sense of “righteous indignation” about the government’s stance on Israel “which is catastrophic in its consequences”.

“History has shown us, time and time again, that any nation that turns its back on Israel gets cursed. And over the past 28 odd years we are reaping the fruit of this very thing and it hits at government level and in our society,” she says in the video.

“I’m hoping to ignite hearts out there — Christian people, especially leaders in the churches — to go and read Romans chapters 9 10 and 11 again and just be reminded of the Jewish people’s role in the bigger scheme of things,” she says.

A recent painting by Liz Campbell featuring the Jewish Shema prayer in Hebrew and a white horse in the clouds symbolising Jesus appearing on the clouds with power and glory (Matthew 24:30). Prints of her paintings can be ordered from the artist online

Other leaders who were at the protest, who speak in the video, are ACDP Western Cape leader and member of the provincial legislature Ferlon Christians; Bridges of Peace national director Chris Eden; national director of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem Vivienne Myburgh and Adam Kepkey of Simcha Israel Tours. Several people who attended in their personal capacity also speak on the video.

Liz Campbell, who founded Beyachad Bureau of Unite, told Gateway News that about 8 of her Jewish friends attended Friday’s protest in support of her. Their presence was “wonderful”, she said.

She hopes that the video clip will be shared widely and will impact people in government as well as many Christians and Jewish people.

When I spoke to her she and her husband, Jamie, were in Queenstown as part of a ministry trip to various parts of the country. She said they regularly speak at churches and conferences on the theme of the truth about Israel. She can be contacted at beyachad5783@gmail.com
